44BC. The Ides of March. Julius Caesar was rushing to the Pompeii Theatre, as he had an important meeting to get to. He bustled through the busy streets of Rome, dodging peddlars and prostitutes. One of his assistants was keeping up with him:

"You really must stop, oh Great One, and listen to me. It's serious"

"I can't stop, the Senate has urgent business to discuss."

"Sir, you really must listen to me," the assistant insisted. Caesar didn't listen. Instead, he burst into the Pompeii Theatre, smiling as he did.

"Sorry chaps, don't know what kept me. Hope I haven't delayed you too much!"

What a sight Caesar was. He was wearing purple robes, like the Kings of old. The Senate frowned as he entered, a couple of them exchanging significant glances. However, Caesar didn't notice. He was too busy rambling on.

Then, one of the Senators stood up. "Julius Caesar, you have been conspiring with our enemies"

"No I haven't. The Gods will strike you down for that accusation!"

"No, Caesar, we will strike you down."

With that, Caesar was surrounded. The Senate strung him up and placed him on the gallows outside, for all to see.

The King was in court. Well, he was supposed to be. Instead, he was in the dining room, eating a massive feast. He was eating chicken, roast boar, lamb, steaks, bread, and was topping it all up with ale. His advisors in court were getting more and more angry at him, but he didn't care. After all, he was the King of England, the head of the Church of England and the most powerful man in the world. After he finished eating, he pulled himself up, his immense bulk requiring him to lean on the table for help. The table groaned under the weight of the monarch, but he didn't care. He was happy. His advisors were still chirping in his ear, but the King waved him away and walked to his chambers.

"Send my wife in," he muttered as he walked away.

The King undressed and lay in bed, waiting for his wife to come and service him. His eyes began to close as the feast took over his body. The door opened as the King murmured "You know what to do."

The next morning, the serving maids came to look after their King. They found his bloated corpse in a pool of blood.
