VOTE: TheIrishPope

And Psych is scum for backing off from pressuring TheIrishPope for a weak reason - a very clear example of Mafia
trying
to look like they're scumhunting and doing Standard Town RVS Behavior, but not quite pulling it off because they're approaching the game from a scum POV.

Cool, you want us to hurry up and get out of RVS. But when someone comes along and does something scummy, you pursue it briefly and superficially and then let them off the hook with an "eh, that works"? What is the point of RVS if when someone starts to freak out under your pressure you just drop it and move on? Am I supposed to believe TIP throwing out a one-line, reasonless town read on skull in post 73 was enough to convince you to shift your focus to someone else? Explain that for me, please, because I'm not seeing the town motive.

Voting without reason (Outside of RVS) is a progress-blocking monstrosity, and I see no reason why any town player would do such a thing.
You just explained why naked serious votes are antitown, not why they are scummy. And then your vote's in the wrong place.

TIP's 73 is a towntell. You need to get your head out of your ass.

Ceteris paribus, if you think someone just did something more scummy than anything else that has been done in the thread, you should vote for him. By not following this basic rule of thumb, you're exposing a lack of desire to pressure, lynch or simply advance the wagon on a supposedly scummy player. This makes the whole idea that you're town actively seeking to lynch scum appear disingenuous.

As for your other question, all you explained is how a behavior hurts town. This doesn't explain why scum would seek to do it, and it certainly doesn't rule out the most commonly accurate explanation in mafia for behavior that hurts town - people are pigheaded.

Attention of the suspect was placed on figuring out who to lynch as opposed to a wagon whose basis the suspect found spurious.

But really, it's the culmination of a style of reaction to pressure that is not at all aberrant.

I think that the action of serious naked voting is scummy. I think that given that context (Close to RVS, there was a case being made against the target by others) it wasn't very scummy. My post was more about stuff in general than that specific action.

And anti-townness was only half of my argument. The other half was about how it makes the voter unable to be attacked unless you attack them for their lack of reason.

Which, as you know, is a pretty substantive reason to attack someone. So I'm not sure if that "other half" is really legitimate.

Attention of the suspect was placed on throwing out the smallest amount of content he could dredge up, a
town read
which as well all know is very difficult for scum to achieve.
