one and four seem to contradict each other. One is the problem. Rest is pretty decent, imo.In post 21570, CF Riot wrote:Four Essential Skills for Being a Better LoL Player
1. Don't Die:Seriously. Ever. In some games dying is a constant part of the fight and sucks, but doesn't seriously affect your ability to get right back up and into the game. LoL is different. It's based on gaining advantages over your opponents, as many as you can, as quickly as you can. When you die, several things happen. First, the opponent that killed you gets a gold reward. Second, you miss out on gold you could be making in the game. Third, during the time that you're dead, your teammates are handicapped by missing a helping hand and having to cover for your lack of presence. All three of these events combine to give your enemies a significant advantage over you and your team, and as the game goes on each death has an even bigger impact. Keep this in mind while playing, and always be cautious about putting yourself in situations that could lead to your death. Some examples of this are staying in lane with low health, diving towers, extending beyond your vision (this includes face checking bushes).
2. Farming is Important:Again, LoL is about trying to gain advantages and a large part of that comes from having the income to buy items that increase your power. Killing minions is your main source of gold, and if you can consistently farm them better than your opponent you will see a growing difference in the long run. Work on last hitting with the champs you most frequently use. Learn how to secure every last hit when pushed under your tower. Don't be afraid to use your abilities to help you farm. Set goals for your cs (creep score) at the 15 minute, 20 minute, and 30 minute marks and try to always reach or exceed that number.
3. Wards, Wards, Wards:Buy them. Use them. Wards give vision of the map which give control and keep you safe. Not only that, they keep your idiot team mates safe! Wards in bushes and high traffic areas can give you the advance warning to avoid a gank, prevent you from walking into a bush filled with opponents, or help you spot an enemy out of position that you may be able to pick off. Wards near objectives like jungle buffs, Dragon and Baron will let your team respond appropriately if your enemies make a move. You should encourage the person in the support role to provide many of the wards during the game, but realistically every player has the opportunity to buy them and you will find the impact they provide is well worth the small cost of 75 gold.
4. Kills Don't Win Games, Towers Win Games:As I said before, it is important to do whatever you can to gain the upper hand over your opponents in LoL. Once you gain an advantage however, how you capitalize on it will determine your success or failure. A common mistake you'll see again and again from lower level players is a person will do very well in the first 15-20 minutes of the game, getting kills and gaining a big advantage, but still lose the game in the long run because they continued to focus on killing their opponents and showing off their superior power. You can lose a game with a score like 12/2/*, and it's not always a case of "noob team, can't carry." Similarly, a team down 5, 10, even 20 or more in overall kills can win a game. As the game transitions past the lane phase you should shift your focus onto grouping with your team to push lanes, take down towers, and work your way into the enemy base to destroy the nexus. Also be aware of the major map objectives; buff camps, Dragon and Baron. While killing your opponents and not dying yourself are still important in the mid to late game, by making controlling the map and taking the enemy base your primary objective you will see better results than if you were to focus primarily on being the guy with the most kills.
These tips are very basic and easy to understand but often forgotten or ignored by a large number of players, especially beginners and low elo players. All of these skills are things you can apply to any champion, every game, and always improve on. By recognizing their importance and consistently applying them to your games, you will see great results.

They shouldn't. Die as little as possible, for it is a waste of resources. Avoid excessive killing, because you need to stay goal-oriented in reaching/destoying the Nexus, and not padding K/D/A. Not to mention it's actually less profitable to kill the more you do so, to the point where a tower not only gives your team more gold, but yourself as well.In post 21577, mykonian wrote: one and four seem to contradict each other. There's nothing wrong with dying as long as it's furthers your team's goal.In post 21580, Rikablu wrote:

Everything is situational, these are just general guidelines. If you can further your goals without dying, it's better than if you did die, but yes sometimes it is the right play to take a death to accomplish something more important. If you have good game sense and can avoid ganks and roam safely without wards you can still be successful, but no one can honestly say wards aren't ever helpful. Yes sometimes you can roam or chase down a kill and still make it back to your team to help out with other objectives, but the general concept of making securing the victory a higher priority than killing enemies stands.
The better you get at the game, the more likely it is that you can create opportunities and have success with plays that don't strictly follow these guidelines, but that requires making judgement calls based on experience that new players don't always have.-

It took so long because the clamp is OP and Duoing with Bronze players puts the clamp on super quick even if you only lose once or twice.
Unless you are one of the two roles that's job is to ward, then it really doesn't matter if you ward as long as you win your lane. Chasing kills can win your lane and snowball your game. Farming is obviously good. If you die 3 times in lane but have more farm, more kills and the tower, doesn't matter that you died.
You want to get better at league of legends. Develop your mechanics so you win your lane more often then not. Win your lane Win The Game. It's that simple.Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.- xRECKONERx

It still matters a LOT that you died. You don't get any LP for winning your lane on farm, kills, and tower. If your deaths have caused the game to be game's 8-8 instead of 8-5, you may have turned an easy win into a loss. Obv. if those deaths were in good trades, (like dying to get a double) then it's more excusable, but one of the things I learned on my climb was that there is no such thing as stomping hard enough. Your shit team doesn't care if you went 3-2 in lane, got the tower, and are up by 30 creep. In post 21591, PJ. wrote:In post 21587, Ankamius wrote:

Eh. I was playing a 3v3 we were dominating and such and lost both towers because we didn't think about sticking to a lane and pushing. Then we did and just ended the game. I also had a doh moment as singed running around wondering why I wasn't doing any damage because my poison was turned off. I felt like a dumb.Stats not in the wiki. I'm That Crazy Panda.

@Bolded: Well no shit, but warding helps you win your lane (especially top). I don't ward as well as I should in top and mid... and that's part of the reason I'm bad at them and have to play safe champs (Renekton, Cho, Lux, Galio)"I would prefer not to." --Herman Melville,Bartleby the Scrivener-
