Derivan - Not very active either, possibly lurking a little bit, but not sure. Leaning scum
goodmorning - Town read, pretty helpful scum-hunting and all.
Cabd - Not sure, some scummy behavior and some town-like behavior
Guyett - An interesting character. Seems like a newb but doesn't play so newb-ishly at sometimes
JasonWuzza - An interesting playing style, gets mad a lot. I don't know why you are voting me for saying that I was reaction testing, possibly a bandwagon, but I'm not sure. Leaning scum
TheGarantula - Like goodmorning, helpful, town read
Fegelein - Helpful, leaning towards town at this point.
These are just my opinions as of now. I will re-read the thread and re-evaluate.
JasonWuzza - An interesting playing style, gets mad a lot. I don't know why you are voting me for saying that I was reaction testing, possibly a bandwagon, but I'm not sure. Leaning scum
This isn't a reaction test, don't down play my vote.
Also bad reasoning to call me scum BASED on downplaying and misreping my vote.
@Jason you've been around a while, what are your reasons for voting for Best? Has he given away scumtells that the lesser experienced of us would not have picked up on?
I voted for him as he 'randomly' voted for me soon after I called him out as potential scum in my first thoughts post. It seemed suspicious as he was wagoning onto Darq's RVS vote for me. Then the back peddling posts backed up my feeling that he is likely scum. He's currently top of my list of potential scum.
I think a lot about meteors. The purity of them. Boom! The end. Start again. The world made clean for the new man to rebuild.
i voted him because "it's a reaction test" is scum going "shit i fucked up, how do i back pedal without looking scummy"
The fact that he tried to down play my very serious vote makes me think he is scum as well, town would ask why, scum would want the vote to mean as little as possible.
yeah I'd agree with that, I picked up on the first one but not so much on the 2nd one.
I think people have picked up on the fact that I'm not a complete newb, I'm new to this site, the rules for this site and the common abbreviations ect but I've played and run a few games on a different website Normally I play 10am - 10pm as daytime and 10pm - 10am as night time with the mafia being allowed talk to each other whenever they want. this game seems so much slower in comparison...
here's an example of a game I ran

Why do you think my application of logic is more scummy than the reaction tests from Cabd and Fegelein? Also like to hear your reads on everyone else.
As I've said, your logic seems flawed, and while this isn't inherently scummy, ( as both town and scum can use bad logic) combined with your multiple scum reads based on RVS votes and your misrepresentation of my argument against you it felt like it could have been scum-motivated. Fegelein and Cabd both were just trying to apply pressure to otherwise unsubstantial RVS votes on less active players to get the game moving.
As far as my current read on you, I'm going to go over ISO's and see what I think of people so far. Expect to see my reads shortly.
Yeah, I did somewhere. If you want me to go dig for it I will shortly.
In post 108, bestwillcui wrote:Personally, I believe that Guyett is playing the newb card, a scum trait. He asks about the mafia communication system and then does some analysis on people.
This is just a small suspicion though.
He's not playing like a newbie and I for one have noticed that I'm not treating him as such. You raise an interesting point here though.
Also in one of your posts you equated lurking with scum BUT that's only partly true.
In post 98, goodmorning wrote:
How do you account for the levity factor of RVS? Multivoting in RVS is hardly a scumtell.
@goodmorning
I applied logic to the posts that were made during RVS in order to come up with my vote rather than throw out a random RVS vote myself. Your initial post was full of votes, which I did find somewhat suspicious. However, you also have asked a lot of questions and did not change your final vote from your first post during the RVS stage.
I haven't played on this site before and I understand I may be applying to much weight to RVS vote swapping. I appreciate those who have respectfully disagreed with my conclusions instead of calling my application of logic "stupid".
I see. I think it may have been surprising to me because I've seen too much steadfastness in voting called a scumtell before. Personally I am of the opinion that it tends more to personal playstyle, but YMMV.
I was going to put more stuff but my brain is melting, back in a bit.
Here are my reads. I didn't bother commenting on posts that I've already talked about a lot since I was mainly just trying to look at the things I hadn't payed much attention to.
Spoiler: bestwillcui
95
I'm not sure what to make of this vote so I'll let it slide as a mistake. 108, 118
This is the third time in this thread a "reaction test" has happened and it's getting pretty old, seeing as they haven't accomplished anything yet. It's an easy excuse seeing as people haven't been targeted much for them yet. 126
Your reads are pretty vague and you end the post saying you will re-evaluate everyone soon. This sounds like an easy way to change your opinions later if you start to take flak. Also, your read on Wazza feels a lot like an OMGUS
My read on bestwillcui is null at best, though I can see scummy motivation behind some of his posts. Before I make more judgments I'll wait for his replies.
@bestwillcui: Have you reread the thread yet, and if so what are your current reads? Do you still suspect Guyett?
Spoiler: Cabd
42, 43, 49, & 51
These four posts are what brought the focus on you, but personally I don't see them very scummy. 75
I assumed this is what you were doing, however as Wazza pointed out, it is also a bit of an easy excuse to use. The sarcasm also comes off as defensive, though this might just be your style. 123
Who is this referring to?
My read on Cabd is null at this point. He hasn't said much of substance so there isn't a lot to go on.
@Cabd: What do you have to say about the discussions thus far? We haven't heard much of your opinions.
Spoiler: Darq
...
...? Darq? Hello?
Spoiler: Derivan
83, 117
Although I had thought you scummy for your logic earlier, these posts are more active than most other players in this game and give off a town vibe.
My read on Derivan null, leaning town, though I'd like to see more content. If his posts continue to actively scumhunt than I'll believe him town.
@Derivan: Who do you find scummy? You seem to have moved on from Wazza but do you still suspect Fegelein at all?
Spoiler: Fegelein
56
Of all the secret pressure votes, this one seems the most genuine due to how you explain yourself and move on. 86
I don't completely understand why you think Derivan's style is fake. 88
It seems very early to be trying to guess scumteams. It also seems like an easy way to try and associate two players who otherwise haven't interacted much.
My read on Fegelein is town so far, as most of his posts seem pro-town and he hasn't flip-flopped much at all.
@Fegelein: What do you think of Derivan's more recent posts? Does he still seem scummy to you? Also what do you think of bestwillcui's recent contributions?
Spoiler: TheGarantula
I'm 101% sure this guy is the Serial Killer !!! plz lynch
@TheGarantula: How can you continuously ball so hard?
Spoiler: goodmorning
98
He shows he isn't afraid to call someone out on reading him town, which ironically comes off as town.
My read on goodmorning is null at worst. The non-IC content he has provided has been good, however due to his V/LA and IC-duty it isn't abundant so it's hard to get a read.
@goodmorning: What do you think of Derivan after his recent posts? Also, what do you think of Guyett and bestwillcui's recent developments? Have any of your opinions changed?
Spoiler: Guyett
45, 66, and 92
You agree with other people a lot but don't provide your own input. You even flipped on Cabd after agreeing with him when other people didn't. 110
This post seems overly defensive, and as I mentioned earlier contains that less-than-subtle role claim. Then you end it with that OMGUS, what gives? 128
You seem to be trying to use Wazza's logic to retro-justify your own vote.
My read on Guyett is leaning scum. Most of his posts are filler or agreeing with other people. He flipped on Cabd with little explanation and got very defensive when called scum even though there was no case on him. VOTE: Guyett
@Guyett: What do you think of the players besides Wazza and bestwillcui? Do you still think Cabd as scum? Why did you claim vanilla townie without any prompting?
Spoiler: JasonWazza
80
This post seems defensive, but it would seem to just be your aggressive style towards who you is scummy. 90
You say that I have been parroting but don't say that it's scummy. Isn't parroting usually considered an easy way for scum to hide? If so why didn't you suspect me for it? 121
That was a good explanation; I hadn't really considered that. 127
I see where you're coming from but considering that two SE's had also done "reaction tests", it could also just be a newbie trying to learn from the other players. Still, opinion noted.
My read on JasonWazza is town, as he has been very active towards the people he has called out as scum. He also doesn't flip his vote around frequently, showing that he actually is trying to use it for pressure and not just appearance.
@JasonWazza: I know you think bestwillcui is acting scummy, but what do you make of Guyett's defensiveness and role claim? Also, at this point do you consider bestwillcui to be scummier than Cabd or are you just trying to use your vote for something more useful?

I don't recall being on your time table.
That said, Derivan's lack of reaction to his L-2 wagon is somewhat alarming to me.
And don't think your total wall of text makes you town in my eyes. I hate players posting walls for the sake of posting walls.
The use of "you" when talking about other players is very weird. If I had past games of yours to go on, I'd compare your tone, but since this is a newbie game, I'm unable to.
The in-the-spoiler text is different for goodmorning if you look carefully. He uses "you" "yours" "your" etc in all his spoiler text but "he" in goodmorning's.
Please come back to this post later if one of them flips scum.

Oh that's what you meant? Yeah, I kind of forgot about his and ended up doing it last (Sorry goodmorning, I think you're important )
I wouldn't exactly call that a scumtell, though.
I still would like you to provide commentary on the thread, too. The "not on your schedule" thing is nonsense and just sounds unhelpful. You haven't said anything about anything except your RVS vote and pressure shenanigan.
Yeah I haven't role claimed yet?!? Jason is on the money there.
I still have Cabd down as scummy
Here's a list of the players in order of scummyness reads so far
bestwillcui - so far comes off as the scummyiest one due to the posts over the last 24 hrs or so
Cabd - I am still very suspicipus of Cabd
Derivan - getting a slight scum read here
Darq - null read due to inactivity, however if the player has been lurking they could easily be scumming
Fegelein - slight town read, on SM's radar which is interesting though
TheGarantula - medium town read. more logical posting and I can see why he has targeted me. all the wifom was entirely accidental and could look pretty bad lol
JasonWazza - town read so far. experienced player who is playing slightly abrasively and calling out people on tells. this activity seems similar to styles in old games of his
goodmorning - town read for reasons already stated by me and garantula.
however from experience in games from elsewhere I think only 1 of the scum will come from the top of that list. the other will probably be in the bottom 4, possibly due to experience at hiding scum tells or just skill at hiding them.
I think a lot about meteors. The purity of them. Boom! The end. Start again. The world made clean for the new man to rebuild.

So your basically saying "i'm not backing myself because scum might be experienced"?
Why not actually focus on the town reads to make them a "your town regardless of experience"
Also, i'm gonna question the GM read once more, how is she town for questioning someone's town read?
Derivan - Not very active either, possibly lurking a little bit, but not sure. Leaning scum[/qoute]
@best
Your last post (11 lines of original text) is the most you have contributed so far (average is two lines per post) and still did not contain reads on everyone. There is a difference between actively posting filler and content. You haven't done either.
Cabd - Not sure, some scummy behavior and some town-like behavior
Guyett - An interesting character. Seems like a newb but doesn't play so newb-ishly at sometimes[/quote]

What is your read on Guyett, besides him being "interesting"?

What are your reasons for leaning scum on JW? Why do you lean town of Fegelein and scum on JW? Appears to be OMGUS since you haven't applied any logic and you didn't even mention Guyett's vote...interesting. Care to explain?

@Gar
I have gathered that the logic I used early on applied to much weight to early RVS voting. I've started applying more weight to reading ISOs and looking for mentions of other players. My logic here is that any distancing (or unwillingness to produce reads/vague reads) might be a scum tell we can tease out early on and use later. I would appreciate thoughts on this.
Fegelein still seems suspicious to me. Not based on my original logic, but now based on his reactions.
You raise a lot of good points in your post.

@goodmorning
I am starting to see that there is a higher probability that it is personal playstyle (where meta is helpful) and have adjusted my weighting accordingly. Once your brain solidifies again, would like to hear some more of your thoughts on bestwillcui and Guyett.

I have attempted to respond to all of the questions posed to me and to explain my reasoning. You've posted mostly filler (average of 2 lines of text per post). Can you please provide reads on everyone? I'd prefer a wall of text from you at this point rather than triple posts. It might contain something above and beyond "this or that is pinging my scumdar".
I went looking for it and coundnt find what he said so I started to think I was going mad, then I remembered its under the spoiler tag in his post.
I think i didnt explain that post very well, same problem as when I did it in another game.
I'll try explain it again using examples
Spoiler: wall of text
the following are in a game and 6 are mafia
JAY
SOUTHENDBLUE
TVR
DAN
Josh
Tshabs
EEZO
ROYALMIKE
GUYETT
THE DOC
IRISH WHITE
DAVID
SCUNNY MANDY
SJFC CRAIG
HODGE
KOPITE4LIFE
DV CANIO
ROB
It is worked out that the following are legit
JAY
SOUTHENDBLUE
TVR
DAN
Josh
Tshabs
and I ranked the rest into a most suspicious to least suspicious list like I have done.
I left myself out as I was a VT
this was the list from most suspicious to least suspicious at the time. the bolded ones are the ones that were found to be mafia
ROB
SJFC CRAIG
THE DOC
DAVID
ROYALMIKE
EEZO
SCUNNY MANDY
KOPITE4LIFE
DV CANIO
HODGE
IRISH WHITE
so it turns out that all the ones that were most suspicious at the time weren't mafia.
That is why I think someone could be scum and also is playing quite well to go unnoticed for the time being. That could be down to experience or skill. Like for example, and I'm not actually saying this is true, Jason could be scum, someone saying they read his meta and said that when he is reserved he is scum and when he is abrasive he is town. He then decided to play an abrasive game to throw people off and make them think he is town.
I think a lot about meteors. The purity of them. Boom! The end. Start again. The world made clean for the new man to rebuild.
