Point is, Elemental's basically doing one of those classic scum-tells -- calling Mastin + us scummy, but preparing to vote for us, not Mastin. Assuming Mastin is scum, Elemental is pretty much guaranteed scum.

I am really tepid on this, especially since I am townreading mastin.

It is obvious who LordBusiness is but I won't reveal their alt if they are not willing. The content he provided seems off with regard to the gamestate. Calling Titan's posts "emotional blackmail" feels like a stretch but tonally he comes across as direct and forceful which makes me think he could be town.

I meant to ask this question last night. What made lord business go from "could be town" to your third strongest town read? And if his alt is obvious to you, how is he anything more than null right now? (I'm not asking for meta here in your response as I'm not interested in outing the alt, just trying to get at the basis for your read.)

There were a few posts in NY169 that felt off to me for all the right reasons. I didn't follow up on them but brushed them aside because I thought it was nothing. Same with a few posts from BB:HoH. I am pretty confident that if I get that vibe at any point, I'll be able to tell with certainty that LB is scum. I never got that feeling so far and his posts felt town. I asked FT what he thought and he agreed enthusiastically that LB was town.

Yes and yes.

I don't really know how to be tactful about it either as I'm not interested in outing his alt either, but I also can't pretend I don't know. I didn't know it at first; I realized it after Falcon pointed out that he was an alt.

It's why I don't think they're likely to be partners if one is scum; I would think that a partner wouldn't bring attention to that. Although him being one that he had a pretty easy early leaning town read on is eating at me a bit.

I'm trying to figure out how it affects my read on him though.

I am playing this game without bias or assumptions. And as such I have joined with the intention that I am extended the same courtesy.

Now it has been brought to my attention as to the whys and hows people think they know who I am, and I thank that person for highlighting that to me, but if day 1 is about to descend into a guessing game then I will consider replacing out.

This was entirely to enjoy a game without bias or preconceptions. And I feel my postig has benefited from being free all these factors. And I feel people are also being able to get the measure of me based on the most important aspect of this game... My posts.

Direct obfuscation (by way of actively pretending like he has no history with you) is antitown.

I don't think that. I did wonder about it, but I don't think your interaction with me after that demonstrates that. Because there wouldn't be a reason for you to read my meta and look at why I'm town here if that was your intent.

I also don't think there's a reason to replace out! People play with alts all the time for a whole bunch of different purposes.

And I'm sorry to really bring it up again when I did, but it's something that was bugging me about Falcon.

If it's really bugging you, what struck me as off about LB was when I tried to keep the mafia encryptor alive, he claimed that I was championing the cause. He also had a very, very subtle way of making suspicion on him feel like something that needs to have a lot of effort put in. It was really obvious in hindsight and I know why I didn't say it then. Damn, I wish we were Masons or something because I don't want to say just yet because he may do that in the future just in case I am wrong.

I am leaning town on CF though. I still have chunks of the game I haven't read since Monday night, but what I'm gathering from Falcon is he seems absolutely convinced I'm going to read him as town. I get the sense that he needs me to read him as town. It's completely different from how scum!Falcon responded to me in Attack on Titan when I started suspecting him. The "Tammy has never read me wrong thing" is the type of assertion I think would be more likely to come from him as town.
