^actually I think I would have been pretty similar even without me being cop? I tend to go blood in the water over bad claims because I have a really good track record with reading scum based on bad to mediocre claims.

Like even with pie I could see the role existing or being a fakeclaim but it looked like he had made his earlier posts fit to make up a 'breadcrumb' instead of actually making them to anticipate claiming

Pie's claim was pretty pre-constructed in response to pressure.

You might THINK either alignment will crumb their role if the player believes he'll be lynched, but most often I see town doing what Waffles did (overzealous crumbing, no major pressure applied to them) or won't bother at all. The niche market for on-demand plausible verifiability belongs to scum.

3-shot Cop + JOAT + Dayvig/Nightvig + BG is where the bulk of the actual town power comes from, which scum all have ways to deal with. So sure there was a few ~additional powers~ but most work as either alignment. Scum just made bad fakeclaims.

I don't think any of the additional powers actually got used, so that is quite correct. (besides the hammerer negative utility)

It's hard for me to tell just reading through the role PMs once, but it actually seems like it might have been scum-sided, and town just dayplay'd so well / scum dayplay'd so poorly that night actions kind of didn't matter?

I would like to point out that the game ending this early makes it literally impossible for our role to have won, even if we hadn't been shot N1. >_<

Singer - I was mostly being stubborn about our VIG choice because I was getting annoyed at continually having to defend /explain our choice when it was practical. We definitely didn't treat it like it was the only choice and we felt bad about it. We would have preferred to shoot a scum read but couldn't decide on one. We did discuss vigging fate, but we thought he'd eat a nightkill if he was town. We talked about a couple others too but got cold feet and just went the practical route so we could confirm ourselves.

I think your role started out so badly balanced that the final product got that effect of "it's much better than how it started". (it was originally only being able to give shirts on odd nights (and neighbourise on even nights) and didn't have that being-untargetable-by-anyone-wearing-green-shirts clause - there might have been a few other things that changes too)

I've been there; AGar and I made a similar error in Experimental Role Mafia with our 3rd party. Never 3rd party without earlygame protection because they can only win while they're alive, or at least have to be alive long enough to kick things off to work towards their wincon.

The third party role had it rough, especially in the hands of a high profile slot. Good luck nullifying the right roles, not getting shot, AND prolonging the game until your wincon can be fulfilled... All while not getting run up to a claim.

i feel like earlygame protection as well would have made it too hard for town to deal with though? you could already target the vig(s) if they claimed it before shooting and an un-shootable survivor with an autohammerer and 4 scum does seem pretty gross.

It seems like a pretty hard win condition to balance though, maybe make it so you win anyway if at anytime half the living players are wearing the shirts even if you're dead (so if you're almost there and you get shot then if you used the other shirts correctly on people not likely to die you can still win a day or two later)

or maybe you could give out two shirts the first night or one in pre-game but it isss still a bit weird.

Kind of pretending we won with the town because bullshit roles, etc. Although I will say that I'm glad we didn't have to read that clusterfuck of a game/~certain people~ because we had to. It was much more entertaining when we weren't directly invested, lol.

Also, we weren't actually a cult. So there.

Also, most ideal wincon for us meant surviving til D6 with the right people still alive. Yeeeaaah...
