"The Heal debuff was something we should have left in when we updated the summoner spell. Without the debuff, there's no real drawback to bringing multiple Heals to a fight instead of an assortment of spells."
word for word what I told people I played with when i found out they took this debuff out.Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.- xRECKONERx

So since there are a few people who don't know about this I should bring this up:
Channeled abilities vs Abilities with long cast timers.
Some abilities like Karthus or Anivia ult are CHANNELED and are "true channels" which can be interrupted.
Then there are Abilities with that random channel bar, but aren't actually true channels, like Caitlyn Q. Archaically Riot used to put that channel timer on any ability that used to have longer than the standard .35 cast time. I don't know when they stopped doing that.
The important thing to note is that abilities that aren't true channels won't be interrupted by stuns or general CC.
Abilities like Caitlyn's Q, Ezreal's Ult, Lux's Ult, Jinx Ult all ignore general CC while their ability is being casted until the cast time is completed. This lets you take advantage of another thing called BIC'ing
I don't remember what BIC stands for but here's the breakdown.
League's CC actually works like an actionbar. If you've ever play Star Wars: KotoR it's basically like the action bar there, where you queued up a bunch of actions and then they were performed in a queue.
What's important to note is that when a new instance of CC is applied, the old stack is replaced. This is important and what lets us abuse a bug that Riot intentionally implemented for people with high latency:
When two instances of CC overlap, the highest priority player action is executed before the next stack takes effect. This is why Ezreal will E shift out of cho'gath CC if he silences him immediately after knocking him up.
What do uninterruptible casts and this action bar have to do with each other?
WELL: When you cast uninterruptible channeled spell (cait Q, ez ult) the game considers that a stack of CC that you impose on yourself. This allows you to intercept, say, a Taric stun by Qing first (as caitlyn) and then spamming AA. The result is that you cast piltover peacemaker while you recieve the stun, and because the stun overlapped your "self-stun" the next action is given by the player (in this case, an auto-attack).
In instances like that you can effectively ignore taric's stun and continue to semi-aa through the stun as if nothing ever happened. That's what BIC'ing is.
Ulting as Ezreal while the enemy thresh unloads his CC on you will actually allow you to escape more reliably since your actions will be given priority once your ult is finished casting.
hopefully this makes some kind of sense, and if not here's a video to maybe help.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wwCUFiiXik
and it's actually really easy to do once you know what you can abuse to do it. Caitlyn's vs taric is the easiest example but you can do stuff like this vs Thresh and Leona.or something like that....- Iecerint

So in that case, does the Taric/Thresh cc timer start immediately (such that its effective duration is shorter), or is the onset of the Taric/Thresh cc delayed (such that its duration is the same, but it has delayed latency)?- Scarab

Thanks to everyone 2 pages ago that offered to play League with me, but I think the situation is under control (and hopefully no one will take any offense to my hesitation to play with too many people from a site based around lynching people).
Iecerint, based on the video MrZepher linked, it seems like the stun duration overlaps with everything Caitlyn does; when the cast of her ability is complete, Caitlyn's queued-up autoattack gets resolved because it was queued before her own ability cc-locked her, effectively allowing her to perform multiple actions during Taric's stun.Last edited by Scarab on Tue Apr 22, 2014 7:12 am, edited 1 time in total.- GreyICE

you never want to overlap CC in any situation because it makes the duration of the first instance shorter. (if you stun somebody that's already stunned then you actually replace what's left of the first CC timer with your own CC timer. make sense?)In post 30394, Iecerint wrote:So in that case, does the Taric/Thresh cc timer start immediately (such that its effective duration is shorter), or is the onset of the Taric/Thresh cc delayed (such that its duration is the same, but it has delayed latency)?
Caitlyn's animation is uninterruptible though so Taric's CC starts ticking during the cast timer effectively letting her get off damage during a stun.or something like that....- notscience
