in the absence of a solid counterclaim, backing up a scumbuddy's claim makes sense (especially when that scumbuddy is a PR and worth protecting)
thinking about it logically, none of what you're saying makes any sense
so let's walk through this step by step and you can tell me about the logical leaps you're making here
firstly, the "locking in" took place
well after you clarified
it wasn't a fake-claim unless you're asserting that he planned to out me from the beginning and this was something we planned, which seems like a really dumb assumption when telling the truth makes a lot more sense. he was either roleblocked or he wasn't. if he was roleblocked, he'd know it was by someone who was town and would know he's lying about getting a result, so in the scenario he was roleblocked the only actually sensible thing to do is tell the truth about being roleblocked or (if he thought he was a sinking ship) at least try to get further information for his team before he goes down (which is what he was doing if he was actually blocked). the other option here is your action on him failed for some reason and he really did get a result on someone, which again he was better off telling the truth about, which would mean he targetted me ergo i'm town.
the argument that i'd back up a scum buddy's claim fails on a lot of levels. first, anyone who says that about me clearly has no fucking clue how i play the game - me backing up a scum buddy's claim entirely depends on whether i think it's a worthwhile endeavour, and given the likelihood SMP would have been lynched, no, just no - i mean, the first thing i make clear to buddies when i play scum is that i'm not averse to bussing if it's required, so yeah. second, me backing up a scum buddy does nothing for him if he was actually role blocked, and if he wasn't roleblocked and got an actual result, i wouldn't need to back him up since he'd have an actual result. and third, if my intention was to back him up, then everything else i said in the day phase about why he was a should be lynched anyway kinda fucks up the plan here, no? i mean, just as a quick example, when sangres clarified they weren't joking about the result on BRO, what i said there is true; bork games are fairly 1-dimensional in terms of roles and he wouldn't include an overlap like he did with investigative roles for town (at least not in a game of this size).
also, in all honesty, i do not think i am good enough to pull off the kind of predictive, elaborate planning that this would require if it was a planned thing between me and SMP as scum buddies, so unless you're suggesting the possibility it was actually planned, the likely scenario here is it was unplanned. and if it was unplanned, it really isn't all that sensible for SMP to do if he was actually roleblocked

the only appropriate response here is, "get on my level, noob"

if this were your theory, then again, everything i was saying contradicts this
i'm like... pretty sure the only thing i ever said in his favour is that i think he got an actual result on me. but that's because i saw it as more likely than a dumb gambit that was bound to backfire if people thought logically about it after he flipped
