you have a handful of people who are really good in rankings lower than than they should be paired up with people who are fucking trash who are only in gold 3 because they no-life ranked.
And then you have the bronze fuckos like you who have absolutely no idea what they're saying trying to run the show.

It's no wonder that all of the really especially good players in this thread don't say anything.
I haven't even played a game with Brandi for like a year, and I'm not surprised by that at all.

An example of someone really good that's ranked lower: nikanor. Dude was silver last season. He's really damn good at adc.

I have not seen one shaco in the jungle do anything other then pick up clean up kills and steal CS from lanes.

Except, I've played inhouses. With me being the "offset" to ani and everyone else roughly paired up by league, and anytime ani wasn't support, his team lost.

Like I'm sure he's improved from playing ranked in silver, but the fact remains he got lucky in his promos.

Im playing this game for over a year now, havent played a game of ranked aside of team ranked and I feel I do well enough to enjoy myself by sometimes winning and sometimes losing. At least i can play poppy top without getting flamed because its "ranked"

Funny thing is, I'm far better than you. Nikanor is legit the only example(on-site) of a guy that if he played ranked he would be ranked far above what it says he is(I think he is a legit plat adc). As you said yourself, the system isn't rigged, it works. I'm gold because I'm gold baby. Suck on my little gold nuts attached to my little gold weiner. And get over yourself. ect.

To chime in on the the Ani-Chesskid thing, I think Ani DID get lucky in his promos, BUT I think he deserves his ranking now because he has 60 games and promoted from S5 to S4. Looking at his stats, I think it's incredibly obv that his ADC play is firmly in silver. 50% winrate over ~20 games with a positive KD ratio. I think he is lucky to have won 6 of his 10 wukong games, but that's something else entirely. As it stands, he's probably better than chesskid, but sample size isn't really enough to dictate one or the other.

We already know that you're guaranteed to get high gold as long as you have 50% win rate or greater. You just need to play enough to get there.
You also had the distinct advantage of playing enough ranked to not decay to silver 3 twice this season.

Shaco is another one of those champions that's gotten nerfed into oblivion, but still serves a really small niche that gets forced into bigger ones;
His function is to fuck with early game centric junglers like Lee Sin or Evelynn and countergank/counterjungle like a boss.
What happens though is that people treat him like he functions the same and Lee Sin or Evelynn and get off good ganks early and try to snowball the lanes so he can get carried through lategame. The problem with that is that he doesn't offer any sort of team utility or innate tankiness and is forced to split push at 30 minutes and hope he can kill whoever tries to stop him (which he can, usually, w/ the state feral flare is in).

I've seen some really good shacos who know how to secure/protect objectives and counter jungle and just be really annoying to the point where the enemy team can't respond to anything we do effectively (which is what SHOULD happen)
And I've seen shacos who just disappear and split push and get mad when our team dies 4v5 while they shoved in a lane. (which is what usually happens)

I whomp this Swain in lane, we were both the capitains, and he clearly bans only mids, and then picks swain, I try to tell him after the game to not ban only mids with a champ that can realistically go into two lanes (I have seen Swain's top) and he goes back at me saying "You counter picked me and only went even"

Now this is after a game where he got counter picked (Ziggs) and was camped by Udyr all early game, he was 50 CS down within the first 15 minutes.

He went "Even" with me.

God people need to take their ego's out of the game.

Every shaco jungle does fuck all, and for some fucked up reason they all try to get an FF.

I had one game that our Shaco was 6 stacks built after FF, the enemy Udyr was on 60 stacks.

EDIT: And my team is bitching that i won't jump and initiate the Udyr, under their tower, while he has an Irielia and Caitlyn with him.

I just say "Yeah i'll do that, so that they can then Ace us and win the game, good idea"

How are your ranked matches selected? For example, are they always at around the same skill level, or is it a function of your normal ELO?

I have a friend who doesn't play ranked but is kind of very good I think. If I duoed with him for placements, how would the difficulty of the placement matches change?

I am a little uncertain because I have seem charts that say things like "10/10 -> Silver 1" and "0/10 -> Bronze V" and such, but it seems like 10 wins is different depending upon whom you won against.

if he's never played ranked he starts with 1200 mmr
