I'm learning Orianna mid. I usually go like 3/3/28 or something. Minimal kills, 90% kill participation. Orianna is awesome but such a support mid.

Why is that "but" there?
What do you have against support mids?

And it's not that hard to pick up kills as a support mid.
When I play Lux I usually end with a score like 9/3/16.
You have to hit your damage spells too, not just shield/speedboost your allies :P

I love that about her (but then again I'm a Support main) - I think her laning is the strongest of any Mid I've just picked up and played with no prior knowledge, and I was able to pretty handily beat or at least run even against anybody I laned against on her during freeweak.

She does SO amazingly in any teamcomp that has any other AoE; it's ridiculous.

Shockwave + Curse of the Sad Mummy / Idol of Durand / Absolute Zero / Bullet Time / Last Breath / Petrifying Gaze / Crowstorm / Cyclone / Stranglethorns --- any of the above sounds like it could be so wombo and so much fun if executed even remotely correctly.

They're awesome, but in bronze soloq they're a little...reliant that someone else knows what they're doing.

Throwing the ball on Shyvana is great, but if she never dives in and gives me the shockwave, or dives too far and the ball falls off....yeah.

I find Ori's laning really weird. I know she's powerful, but I still feel like I get fucked. Zed is tough for me.

Ori's level 1 "shield and auto" thing is fucking broken to hell.

Also, she does too much damage to be a "support mid." Her numbers are pretty stupidly high for what she gets in addition to damage.

Then again, everyone's agreed to let ori be op forever, since she is fairly non-toxic to let be op

Hasn't Ori been nerfed several times?

I mean this happened to Kayle, too, and she only had her moments of glory after the 3rd or 4th nerf set, so I'm not disputing that she's powerful.

I looked at the the rosters and my only question was "What faction does nidalee fight for?". Answer: she doesn't.
So I don't care which I fight for. :(

Also I'm not a huge fan of referring to solo laners as "support mages" since it implies they can't do the lord's work on their own. Lux and Ori are burst mages the same as every other AP mid, perfectly capable of blanking a single target or laying a whole team low. Just because someone has skills that will let you whore a free assist doesn't mean you should give up on their damage in favor of utility. Mage =! Assassin. The distinction that I think would help more people differentiate and react to the type of mages they are facing is between burst and sustained damage. The viable sustained damage APs all have a way to stick to you (ori lulu rumble etc), that's what makes them viable.

And even a "pure burst mage" like Annie can do just as much spacing as an "area control mage" like Anivia, because instead of putting down a blizzard that everyone can see, Annie controls space by the implied threat of her stun (often more threat than any "support" or "zoning" mage).

See how all these similar terms can mismash together and blank out what you're trying to say? Stay educated about your opponent's abilities if you want to survive in midlane. Any fed mage will absolutely delete anything but a bruiser/tank at the end of the game if they get a clean catch, regardless of what your perception of their damage potential is.

I think they make fake lore that lets certain factions recruit certain neutrals as the game goes on.

Her release damage was about the same as Annie's

Just a note regarding Orianna, but assuming you max Q first, at level 6, your Q-W-R combo does less base damage than just the lux ult, assuming it procs the lux passive.

The thing with orianna is her damage is a huge burst taking off half the health of every enemy champion she hits with it - and thats nearly all her damage. If your comp is reliant on orianna to initiate, she won't be getting any kills next to the cleanup crew of everyone else.

About ori's laning, oman, you're in bronze. She's really, REALLY hard to play properly, at any stage.

I'll take that as support :D Cheers.

Am I maxing her skills wrong? I find Q better for just getting the ball there, and max W first for damage, E second for omgshield, and R when available.

You max W when you are 100% confident that you will absolutely dominate your lane as W does more damage than Q.
Otherwise, it's really better to max Q for better ball positioning. Ranks in Q decrease the CD.

I love my lulu at the moment, last 2 games, 1/1/24 and 6/4/25 and both of them i was just saving everyone when they were on the verge of death.

Such a pain in the ass of a support.

EDIT: Also cock blocking a dragon steal by the enemy kha with my polymorph caused so much rage.
Saved by my own stupidity \o/

So this happened? No idea how we won. Nexus was at like... 200hp at one point and we somehow turned around?

From the gold lead your team had, it looks like it should of been in the bag the entire game.

Edit: just looked at the graph, yeah holy shit. They must of really misplayed this. Seems they got tripled by jax and started fighting badly or getting caught out, which lead to them getting walked in on at baron and jax getting a triple and the baron, and then your team remembered that towers existed, creating a ridiculous large amount of gold from thin air.

What? What do you mean? They had gold lad until the last few minutes.

edit-edit: yeah. No idea how we turned it around. Aced-baron'd-ace'd-took inhib turrets-they randomly surrender

This puts me to 60-40, so I expect I'll be losing some more soon, heh

yesterdays games were... interesting. Last one, opposing nidalee had monitor problems, but I still managed to die twice without an opponent.

Mundo dies when he pleases.

Thankfully we had Brandi carrying us.
