One article is situational awareness as scum, AKA the "how mastin plays scum guide, 2014 edition". [The slightly in-depth guide to scum being the 2013 edition, with a slight augmentation in the form of the Tips to Scum.] Another is the town counterpart, situational awareness as town and why circumstances/context is key. A third is on my more relaxed, casual take on the game, the theory behind it and why it's healthy, productive, and better overall than a super-serious take on things. Then there's the fact that I STILL have sthar8's conversations, and THEN there's still the fact that I owe ETL's thread a thorough review and commentary. That's just what I can recall off the top of my head. I had a full list on my now-dead computer.)

TN, how did you learn about the wincon modification?

My job was to protect Leviathan's Bullshit, aka Real-David, from being sniped by the Mafia Sniper. If I was unable to prevent that from happening, I would lose automatically despite being town aligned.

I learned about it existing from my role pm and learned that the sniper was dead in Room 2.

Real-David died but not from a Sniper, which closes the loophole of 'you can possibly lose even if your team wins', leaving me as a named townie.

I think I can go ahead and reveal my wincon at this point. I figure you probably can't lynch me without the scum winning, I doubt the scum would kill me given my claim unless they just don't like me much, and the scum might NK me if I don't claim since the other investigative roles are dead now.

My wincon was that I won if a lyncher lynched his lynch target. I was given neither the lyncher(s) nor the lynch target(s) nor the flavor(s) of the lyncher(s) or lynch target(s) (i.e., no Real/Fake David talk or anything similar). No alternate wincon was mentioned in my role PM. The Watcher element of the role is real, but I have forgotten to use it the previous few nights. ^^;

The clarification that MoS offered was that I could also win on a survivor wincon. Yay for me.

So, unless MoS is a major troll, one of you 3 is my lyncher ally, and another of you is the remaining scum (maybe a mafia sniper if tn's facts are accurate), and the remaining player is town. It's also possible that my "lyncher" ally is the same person as the sniper, but this still implies that the person with the nightkill still exists and is scum.

Are you asking whether the lyncher knows he has an ally and/or whether I am that ally? If so, then no, I do not know whether or not they are aware of that information.

Not as implausible as you'd think. I know at least among my siblings, there have been times where one of us has used a laptop while being above (or below) another one of us.

(And, hey, AP came to the Seattle area which I am approximately in! Even though if memory serves me, it was Kent which is an hour and a half away. Still counts as coming practically to my back yard! So it CAN happen!)
