I had 240 armor from frozen heart AND iceborn gauntlet

my max hp was shit, so their fully built fed gnar with BOTRK couldn't do ANYTHING VS ME

Total MANA = [947 (base) + 1000 (muramana) + 1000 (arcangel's) + 500 (iceborn) + 400 (frozen heart)] x 1.05 (masteries) = 4038.35

Been a while now, it's getting rare to log in the first attempt. Two days ago saw a 10 min series of starting up lol, logging in... waiting... connection error, close lol, start up lol etc. But that was about the worst I've experienced.

If they're counting the extra damage from ADC janna-shielded autos, I think they're probably right?

Janna's shield is broken by lulu q and an auto.

By my calculations level 1 Janna's shield at rank 1 is 80, lulu's Q is 80. Janna's AA is 52, plus shield bonus of 14 for 66 damage. Lulu's AA is 46. so if played perfectly that puts Janna up by 20 damage.

Spellthief only makes it worse for Lulu since her AP ratio is 50% and janna's on shield is 70%.

Armor and MR changes that a little, but both have the same armor and MR, and I think that only serves to help Janna in the end (since the shield absorbs more of the AA).

That said, Lulu has a lot more health than Janna (66 health more), and Janna has a ton more Mana. Their spells use 21% and 17% of their mana pools respectively.

Previous year in the NA-ranked games I played a bunch of Gragas support. I like it, but I get it, people think you are trolling and get hostile very easily. Fine, professional risk picking that champ and all.

But when did Zyra become a Gragas-tier support? That was the champ that got me over the final hurdle last season, made my final ranking then possible. Played three ranked games with her now and the amount of hostility that spawns from just that pick is insane. It's not even that she has a bad winrate or anything.

People are generally hostile towards any support that can threaten to take kills and start dealing massive damage.

I play a bunch of lux support because I do best with her, but people can get so angry. I usually out damage most of the other champs in a given game with her, but I guess people just want classic supports where they're either super tanky (leona braum etc) or high utility (janna nami etc).

It's like the same thing as why old nidalee support was hated. She wasn't a particularly bad support because you didn't really need massive AP on her to make her spears hurt, but people with ego hated her because she threatened their position.

I don't like mage supports that can't shield or heal me. I'm the carry, you're the support, I don't need you KSing me and becoming an auxiliary AP carry at my expense and some the expense of a tank.

Edit: you're taking money out of your carry's pocket and if you lose the lane you're twice as bad off as you would have been before.

I don't mind zyra support. I mind what Zyra support SUGGESTS -- particularly if you're one of the last picks. If I'm in soloqueue, I don't know you, but I'm going to assume you're picking her because you don't really want to play support and want to basically be another mid-laner. I assume you'll do things like not get a sightstone, go balls to the wall in lane even when it makes sense to be passive, etc.

Very similar to how I feel about Brand support (which I had in the ranked game I played yesterday).

I'm not going to flame anyone over their pick, particularly not my support who I'm hoping to be able to work with well. But if in my head I'm just thinking it, I assume other people are going to say it (and loudly)

Last game was a second pick zyra, didn't see their lane yet.

And idk, I enjoy that I can engage with her, I enjoy that I can peel with her, she's got good bush control in lane and if you manage the cooldowns a little (this is the main issue) she's got pretty amazing trading in lane, given that beyond you and your adc's auto's, they are fighting in the zone where your plants are helping.

Obviously that goes a little different in the scumchat games where I do more and take more, but you know, that's scumchat games.

For the record, build tends to be, lv1 gold item, sightstone, boots (then go mobi's or sorcs), cheap ass value ap item (guise or armguard) or aegis, then upgrade the armguard or guise at some point. Pretty standard.

I like playing with supports that have good CC, Zyra included, when I adc. Nothing's better then getting 3-4 free autos because your Zyra just snared their ADC. Heals are nice too, but at least at my ELO, most supports can't time their shields well enough to be good.

Yeah i never understood how people are slow on the shield's, or even continue to put the shield having seen the damage already land.

I do enjoy it being a support on the other side of it, always get my poke off, wait for the shield to drop and continue poking.

In my games Zyra supports tend to support the same way as anyone else. I'm usually happy to see Zyra because people who pick Zyra generally know how she works.

What never ceases to amuse me is when there will be a near kill in lane, my adc will be too weak to follow up, and i'll flash-Q or flash-W (as morgana) to secure first blood, then my ADC will bitch that i stole the kill. Like, first blood going to us and assist gold in your pocket is better than them going back to base and gaining nothing?

I think people do that kind of thing less and less as you climb.

I recently made a smurf to play with a friend who's just starting, and it's amazing how much people complain about "ks" and all that. I had forgotten.
