Thanks, I wonder if there were any more? Guess I wouldn't need to search, scanning discussion of N1 deaths might do it. But work days and all...

The way I found it was I ISOed the mod, searched for "phantom" because i knew that would take us to the start of day 2, and then i skimmed from there. Cakez post there pinged me at the time. There was some talk of vigs on day 1 as well from a variety of slots.

Spoiler: day 1 quotes from cakes that made me think he was the vig-or-sk
SirCakez wrote:Snarky is fucking unreadable ugh, it irritates me so much but I don't want to touch him out of fear he's just playing yet another sucky town game. 10/10 vig target though.
Need to review Skybird's posts, will do tomorrow since tired af.

SirCakez wrote:Podo did you read the ISO I linked?
Snarky is a quality vig shot, no point wagoning him.

SirCakez wrote:Swords was definitely new PP, I play with him off site.
Snarky is still unreadable, for the people debating that. Someone please Vig him tonight.

SirCakez wrote:Snarky you're doing literally nothing. Make us not want to vig you.

SirCakez wrote:Yeah I said I wanted him vigged pls

SirCakez wrote:I'm caught up. Vig should be on Snarky or tictac tonight.

SirCakez wrote:Because I feel so iffy about Dram due to that game I linked earlier. He's an OK vig shot but I prefer the other two more.
Tictac has been scummy all game and pretty lurky.

pedit: it was at the start of day 3 that nacho said there wasn't an SK. By that, he meant "I am townreading Cakes".

Ogre, I've been thinking about the problem that we're having and trying to find a solution to it. I think we are having a timezone problem. The time period from about 8am to 11am GMT, sometimes starting a little bit earlier, sometimes ending a little later if I lose track of time, is the time of day when I have time for mafia and I'm alert enough to think about the game. It also seems to be the time of day when
you
have time for mafia, so you see me around and you ask me questions and engage me -- but I'm not the head that you want to talk to, I'm not the head that you can read, I'm the head that you wind up going in circles with. I respond to you because you're here and I'm here and I don't want you to feel that I'm ignoring you when you're asking me questions but it means that the time I had to make ISO maps or to finish reading the thread or to go back and look some stuff up or to
to talk to people who are not you
keeps being spent...talking to you, going around in circles, not accomplishing anything and then I run out of time and I haven't interacted with the 14 other slots that I wanted to interact with and you've interacted with the head of this slot that you didn't want to interact with in the first place.

And then everyone gets mad at me for filling up the thread with circles when I'm trying to do what people keep asking me to do when it's keeping me from pursuing the things I'm interested in pursuing.

I don't
think
you're doing this deliberately; I think we're having a time zone problem where we're the only two people around at that time of day so we're getting into each other's way.

Would you mind terribly if in the future I were to respond to you with "I'm not the head that you're looking for" and went back to what I was doing? It would increase my enjoyment of the game because the circles use up a lot of my language quota and I don't have enough for other things and I think it would increase everybody else's enjoyments including your enjoyment too.

I'm literally stating which head I am addressing in the majority of cases so that seems fine; I do have a BoP on you two though and if Nacho's not around then I can't exactly read him now can I? And I've already said I can't read you :)

Cerberus v666 wrote:I mean, you can talk to the half of the game here that has played with me, and among them, those who are scumreading me, are doing so because of my complete lack of involvement in the game, not because of the sort of content there is in my posts. At least, not for the sort of content you are accusing me of having in my posts. Because they expect that sort of content from me.

But you're feeding that response to them. I remember you mentioning that about yourself self-effacingly at least once. (I'll look it up in a sec)

And I can *see* that you're not being driven to make your reads until you're pressured. And don't get me wrong, I'm not voting you for pressure, I'm voting you because I think there's a good likelihood that you're scum. But I wonder what then drives you to make random comments on the gamestate or what other players "should" be doing and it doesn't gel. I mean you're here to find scum? So find scum.

Can I ask about Piper then?
When did you get a townread on them and how was it brought about?
Same with me. You've managed to get some kind of read on me and it wasn't really brought about by pressure I suppose, perhaps it's some kind of osmosis on your part, and some part me just asking about it or interacting with you?

Do you usually townhunt?
Do you usually have strong scumreads?
Who else in this game have you played with that would know if this is you or not?
What was your last game?

(sorry this post is primarily questions, but that's where I'm at)

Okay here's one example of you telling people (Seniors in this case) what they should expect from you and what they should be worried about:
Cerberus v666 wrote:What? I've barely even mentioned that! Usually it happens early in the day too.

And...umm...where's the activity? That's something you should expect from me, if I were trying to replicate anything.

Here's another example, and I think there are several more but I'm not in ISO/quote-dump mode tonight.
Cerberus v666 wrote:..naw man. This is EXACTLY the sort of shit I push people on. I don't understand why both of you, now, are insistent that forgetting about his scumread on Dave is what happened here. Let Mirhawk tell us himself. I also find it highly unlikely that you can tell me that you sincerely believe that completely dropping your top scum read for absolutely no reason is COMPLETELY NAI.

Anyways, the rest of this game though, yeah, totally not my normal town me. Sorry. Not giving it my all, so you get half-assed Cerb. My case isn't "Ranger thought it." It's, I find these points to be scummy and inconsistent for these reasons, which have been previously covered by myself and others. In addition, Ranger thought it was scum.

So you're setting expectations that you will be different as an excuse to... be different. Not only that but you're doing it pre-emptively.
That can come from town and scum for various reasons but I do want to know where you're coming from - thus the questions.

The townreads on both Piper and yourself come from seeing the posts both of you are making as sincere attempts to solve the game. You also have legitimate and consistent reads, which you treat in an appropriate fashion. In short, the play of both your slots simply "reads" as very town to me. If I were to reevaluate the reads and undermine my own ability to defend my townreads if they come under pressure, I would have to say neither of you are SO town that there is no chance you're scum, but you ARE town enough that it would be idiotic to come anywhere close to lynching either of you for quite some time. I haven't seen concrete actions enough taken by either of you with regards to known town or scum slots, to say "Yes, this is town, scum would never(where never represents a small enough probability that I feel it doesn't need to be mentioned) do that."

I don't generally specifically attempt to townhunt, but that is usually what happens. When I play mafia, I tend to overanalyze everything. I see a suspicous action, and rather than just writing it off as scummy, I always attempt to determine the scenarios in which it would make sense for town to do that/the actual scum motivation/goal behind making that play. This tends to make it very difficult for me to firmly determine people are scum until later in the game, so the majority of the game is spent, essentially, townhunting/absorbing the information gained by flips, until I can establish that x did not have sufficient cause to do a, b, c, or d as town, but ample cause to do it as scum, and is thus more likely scum than town. I normally do this by questioning everyone on everything, so I can get a firm idea of what their actual reasoning is for their reads and what thought processes led them to say the things they've said. That's what's missing this game. I haven't been as invested, so I haven't been interrogating the game at large to try to get a better sense of where everyone is coming from. I'm also big on working out/exploiting the mechanical quirks of any given game, so a lot of my posting is also usually focused on that in the early game.

I guess the point of all that is yes, I suppose you would say I generally townhunt more than scumhunt, though the two do go in tandem. I tend to have extremely weak reads early in the game, and ironclad absolutely certain reads in the mid to late game, particularly if it's a read on someone who I'm actually pushing myself.

People who have played with me/should be aware of my play, in this game. This includes having played with games where I hydra(I do tend to do the majority of the posting in my hydras, and I sign my posts, so it's difficult to confuse my play for that of my partner, generally).

The Pied Piper - Both heads, in different games, plot only played with me in my very first game on site though, but they did reread that entire game after they replaced in.
Friendless Seniors - Both heads, hiplop in a few games, EP is one or two.
SirCakez - One mini, where I was scum. He also spectated SF where I was an anti-town third party whose win condition was removal of the scum team...so all of the non survival oriented posting in the game was essentially me playing town.
dramonic - We have played no games together, but I've played in two games he modded, both times as town.
Marquis - I...can't remember how many games we've played together. I know he hydra'ed with some people sometimes, and I know he was solo in some others.
Flubbernugget - A couple games, would need to double check which ones
itlepip - SF and Unimum
pistachi0n - A couple games, would need to double check which ones
davesaz - Same. I think? Thought he might actually only have a single game with me.

My last completed solo town game was UNIMUM Mafia(which was never actually completed). itlepip and EP were in that game.
My last(and only) completed solo scum scum was Open 623. SirCakez and pistachi0n were in that game.
My last completed game period was Saga Frontier Mafia, where I was 3rd party anti-town. Hiplop was in that game for a short period of time, as was EP. Itlepip followed throughout, and Sircakez was spectating.

Oh, I missed your original question: There's nothing that drives me to make random comments? I simply do. When I'm actively sitting at my computer, and actively reading this game/ here talking to people, I'll make comments on whatever comes into my head. And yes, I'm feeding that response to them, sure. That doesn't make it any less true. I'm well aware of the differences between the way I tend to play most of the time(which you'll see if you look at those games...Open 623 is the only one where I'm not one of the most active players, and that's mostly because my SF role was so incredibly awesome that I spent HOURS every day working on SF), and the way I've been playing this game, so when someone mentions differences between what they expect from me, and what they get, OR when they assign a townread to me based on their prior experience, when I know that experience doesn't match up to my play here...I point out the differences between what they should expect, and what they got...in one case to explain why there's a difference, and in the other, to question them on why they didn't notice the difference.

TPP: okay, what would you consider the foundational post of your case against FS? Point me to to it, and I'll deconstruct it. Or I'll fail, and realize I'm an idiot who wasn't reading in depth enough. We shall see.
GTK a me, currently live, this may be your only chance!
