So, this will sound very weird, but it is my experience that the only time town finds a scum on D1 is when a. The scum is getting hardcore bussed, which then makes the others even harder to spot, or b. When the scumteam is so terrible the town would win anyways. So, my D1 strategy is to put town in the best possible standing for the rest of the game. (Sometimes I think this would be a NL, but this isn't one of those times)

There's a little something called implied guilt. That's exactly what you were doing. You didn't say something verbatim, but it was implied that that was the statement you were making.
