QMan 3 (Mariyta, Jdodge, AmeliaLi)
Not Voting: QMan, Xyzzy
And as quick as a flash, the remaining animals had elected to lynch QMan. Luckily for them, QMan had been scum. Unfortunately for them, he had not been a member of the mafia.
QMan - Snake (Serial Killer) has been disqualified from the race
.Now, with 4 animals remaining, it was night. The group had a feeling that tomorrow would be the final stretch of what had been a long race.
It is now Night 5. You have 48 hours maximum to get any and all choices in to me.

The remaining animals had barely had a chance to get their heads down for some well-deserved rest, after their first successful lynch, when they were awoken by a cacophony of squealing.
AmeliaLi, the Boar, was being trampled by a masked assassin.
The killer took off her disguise. Mariyta laughed in the faces of Jdodge and Xyzzy. Then things got alot worse for poor Xyzzy, as he realised that Jdodge had been in on the act as well!
Mariyta (the Horse) and Jdodge (the Cat), Mafia members, are victorious!
Mafia wins!

Xyzzy - Dragon (Miller) has been killed in endgame.

Yeah, this was a good game. In play terms, i don't think the Mafia could have done much better. I have to say though, during the later stages, the town could have been alot more proactive. There were times when Mariyta and Jdodge both came under fire, and didn't defend themselves brilliantly (though Jdodge's abuse of metagaming was impressive). I actually felt QMan played a great job of staying out of suspicion as an SK. He was just unfortunate that Wiggle investigated him.
Here were the night choices for those of you who care:
Night 1
Wiggle (Cop) investigates QMan
QMan (SK) kills Spambot
N9V (Doctor) protects Jdodge
Spambot (Doctor) protects Jdodge
Jdodge (Mafia) kills Spambot
Night 2
QMan (SK) kills Blue Zebra
Mariyta (Mafia) kills Blue Zebra
Wiggle (Cop) investigates Ultima Avalon
Night 3
QMan (SK) kills NOBODY
Jdodge (Mafia) kills Whome
Wiggle (Cop) investigates AmeliaLi
Night 4
QMan (SK) kills UA
Wiggle (Cop) investigates Jdodge
Mariyta (Mafia) kills Wiggle
Night 5
Mariyta (Mafia) kills AmeliaLi
As far as the Doc's go, i didn't think it was a problem having 2. I thought you guys would have recognised that it was an inherent possiblity. Spambot at least seemed to believe N9V during the day, but after his death, he confirmed that he didnt really believe N9V atall. The idea of 2 docs was really to compensate for having no RB. It was a potential trap for the town, although had both Docs had the chance to come forward, they might have spotted that they had slightly different capabilities, which may have taught them to work together. It also allowed the Cop to be safe from SK and Mafia, for as long as both docs survived.
It was a strange coincidence that both docs protected Jdodge, and even moreso that both SK and scum left the claimed doc alone, and killed Spambot. It was that night when Wiggle got his first guilty (on QMan). With hindsight, he might have been better placed revealing it on Day 2, but then at the time, he was probably content with the N9V lynch.
Again, Mafia and SK both targetted the same person, for some inexplicable reason. I guess, they'll have to answer that for themselves.
By Night 3, QMan sent me a pm claiming that he'd cracked the game, and knew that he was the only role who could NK.
He chose not to submit a choice in order to test this. I gotta say, i've never seen an SK choose not to kill before. It did teach him that there was another killing group, but at this point, the Mafia didnt know that there was an SK (though they may have assumed from the setup).
It was only on Night 4 that we saw the double NK that had been possible since Day 1. The death of Wiggle didnt seal QMan's fate, but a combination of him and UA did (as Jdodge rightfully pointed out).
Had Wiggle survived that night, he would probably have reported a guilty investigation on Jdodge, and perhaps the Mafia might not have won. Still, at least he had avoided the pitfall of investigating Xyzzy, who was a Mason, designed to confuse the cop, or confirm him as the case may be.
By the last day it was pretty clear cut. There was no real reason not to kill QMan, however that lynch sealed the towns fate.
So yeah, good game, and cheers to all for playing
Activity was a bit below par at times, and the No Lynch due to deadline was probably what ended the town's chances.
I guess my modding was a bit below par aswell. I recieved comments that i should have modded the game a bit more like Judgement Day, so hopefully i too can learn from this and do better in the future.
My fave part of the game had to be the setup speculation. Those of you who said, "BM wouldnt make the game obvious to break" weren't wholly right. You see, there was a reason for every role. (well most anyway). They just weren't quite as obvious as: "ooh, the rat must be scum".
The Dragon was a Miller, because i realised that some people might have thought that it would be scum. Some genius correctly ascertained that a CAT had been present in the Chinese Myth, but had been betrayed by the rat. The storyline here was, Cat wants vengeance! Along with the horse (who was cruelly cost a place by the Snake in the original race) that made up the Mafia. The Snake was the SK because well, snakes aren't stereotyped as the most trustworthy creatures. He'd been selfish before, and he tried it on again.
Of course the presence of the Cat meant there was 1 animal missing. Had Jdodge had to claim early on, he would have been in trouble, as the Cat wasnt one of the expected 12 animals, and he would have had to guess at which one i left out.
So, whilst there was a pattern, it wasnt an easily breakable one. Even if you had somehow managed to guess it, there was little to prove it until all roles had been revealed.
and finally, congratulations to our victorious scum! They were against the odds from the start, but they managed to pull through!
To Mariyta and Jdodge, the Victors of the Race!

I honestly thought there were 2 scum groups the entire time.

I sooo didn't think i'd cracked the game. I did not say that. I knew not killing could have backfired on me, (It did, i would have killed wiggles) but I had to find out what was going on.Battle Mage wrote:By Night 3, QMan sent me a pm claiming that he'd cracked the game, and knew that he was the only role who could NK.

One Hamster to rule them all!
One Hamster to find them!
One Hamster to bring them all!
And in the sawdust bind them!

Thanks Qman. You were the only thing keeping me from going down in flames.

After I voted for Qman, I was oh shit, I shouldn't've done that. I started to think about everything that happened in the game, and the doubts and then you closed it before I had a chance to pull my vote and start to put heat under JDodge and Mariyta.
Though I was surprised that I was kept alive as long as I was.
