For what it's worth, Albert, I'm sorry that we didn't believe you. I hope you understand our reasoning, though. My posts are best read in the calm, reassuring voice of Morgan Freeman. I don't sound anything like him, but they sound best that way.

I thought hohum's lack of posting was scummy. I didn't think Dani was that bad until people started pressuring him, but I probably would have gone with that lynch. Wolframn I was not suspicious of. He was doing a good job.Talk nerdy to me.

This is seriously disappointing. I hope you consulted with the scum before calling the game. Though it was difficult for them to win, it wasn't impossible. And it would have been an amazing victory if they managed to pull it off. D2 we would have had only 6 confirmed townies if there was no crosskill, DGB dies D2 and no crosskill means only four confirmed by D3. Top lynch candidates for me at that point were the SK (sirdan) and a townie (Yankee).Phate wrote:This game is over. Those of you in the town may consider it a town win if you like. The fact is, I did not adequately balance this setup, and it's very hard for scum to win.
I thought it was surprisingly well balanced. I tried my hardest to break the game within the rules and didn't succeed. I agree that the Innocent Child recruiter and scum meltdown weighed things heavily in town's favor but you can't blame yourself for the latter, it was a combination of poor scum play and good townie badgering that created the McMeltdown.I expected there to be a logic-puzzle aspect to the game, which town would attempt to exploit and scum would expect to subvert. However, scum didn't really attempt to subvert it, or at least they didn't go about it very well.
One thing you might want to consider for this set-up that didn't get tested is using a slightly more lenient ruleset than BaM. Even re-balanced, this game is likley to create a townie voting bloc early. If that happens, there is a strategy that could break the game and it's something I was going to suggest except scum ended the day before I could: decide the next day's lynch before going to night so that the bloc can come in voting as quickly as possible, thereby getting everyone not on the wagon modkilled. Also, consider randomizng the order that people are recruited from lists. And, I don't know if you did this, but getting the recruits before determining alignments would be another fix. Otherwise, townies would be smart to send in lists that are as short and obscure as possible.
What are you smoking? You were a liability, dude. You spent the first half of the game arguing against the strategy that gave us this default win and the second half getting yourself mislynched. DGB was suspected long before you caught her and would have been lynched if not for you. And sirdan was scummy before you mentioned him too. I don't think you played horribly but MVP? Not quite. McGriddle was the MVP, LOL.ABR wrote:MVP of the game: Albert B. Rampage
This early game-over preempted the lecture that the rest of the town was going to get from me this morning. If any of you happen to be on a voting bloc with me in the future, please refrain from voting with the scum. It's possible we might have mislynched ABR anyway, but the fact that a few of you let the scum lead that lynch should be embarrassing.
(After a quick reread in preview, I'm noticing how grumpy this post sounds. So here's a reminder that I like you people, and had lots of fun playing this game.)Record:Town 10W/15LScum 4W/1LOther 2W/2LNewbie 1L

Sweet. That makes me feel a lot better about it.
Thanks for the game even if you consider it a failure. I was impressed by how well thought-out it was and had fun playing it while it lasted. Not going to /in for the next one, but people can feel free to recruit me. It would be really fun to be a scum recruit [/WIFOM].
I had to look twice at who posted that second (bloody) one. At first glance, I thought that was DGB tellin me I was going to be NKed.elvis wrote:But MME posted a Fabio pic. I couldn't help myself after that.Record:Town 10W/15LScum 4W/1LOther 2W/2LNewbie 1L

Personally, I'm listing this one as incomplete on my wiki. Scum had little chance to begin with and after the modkill, the game pretty much ceased to be mafia at all and scumhunting was minimally important. I know I personally did nothing.
It was a nice spam fest while it lasted, but honestly, it wasn't much more than that. It was kind of fun and I enjoyed playing with most of you. Not signing up for the rerun though.
I guess I can't harass Phate about this game anymore. Ribbit.- Ythill

I have a really bad habit of suspecting the doc. Not sure why.
In this case, it was because you speculated about vig breadcrumbs and then tried to coach the vig. It seemed like you might have been setting up excuses for your night kill choices. That's the real reason I asked you to cite the crumb. When you had to go back and look for it, I figured I was right. That, combined with the fact that a few townies claimed that something was wrong with your play, but I was pretty sure you weren't mafia.Record:Town 10W/15LScum 4W/1LOther 2W/2LNewbie 1L
