Rookie, backup? Something...
Was there some reason that he should have arrested you instead of letting you off?
And why do you ask what I was doing? What were you up to?

Aah interesing.
Reread the PM.
I was caught by someone with a search warrant. Hmm. So it was not meant for me. He let me go. No reason to arrest me except for maybe loitering.
I ask because o all the others, you're the only one who mentioned that he only passed someone and not what? why? where? etc.
Plus I'm suspicious of you for vehemently attacking the group of three = scum theory yesterday. You refused to look at DB who was later scum.
Did anyone see any suspicious groups last night? Vicinity of intersection C?

Not I. I went to the Tavern again.

You went again?
What are you? An obsessive drunk? Have you no free will man?

Shut up, church-boy. :P
Well, what's the use in wandering the streets when there's a steady supply of alcohol just next door?
Besides, sometimes you just want to go somewhere and try to forget about the whole mafia thing.

Shut up, church-boy.
I don't like the implications of that!
Filthy drunk!
Are you saying you can't go anywhere else?

Y'know, it occurs to me that my role would become a lot more useful if people knew about it.
I am the owner of the Tavern, and if I spend the night there I can hear the local gossip about you lot. The more people (up to 2) who visit me that night, the more I get.
I've spent two nights there now, and since nobody likes my establishment, I've only received two rumours. But they look to be pretty useful, since they're about two roles that exist in the game, so I might be able to confirm someone's roleclaim.
Tomorrow night, please consider visiting me. It will help you prove your innocence (or we could be incredibly dull and mass claim and I confirm who I can).

by Phoebus
Well, it *might* help to suss out the rumours if you think they're useful?
How do you know those roles exist?
Posted: Mon Oct 25, 2004 4:22 am
by mole
They were both something like "one of the residents is a <vague role name here>".
Posted: Mon Oct 25, 2004 4:24 am
by Phoebus
Hmm. pro town?
If it's suspicious, we could force those people to claim. No?
Posted: Mon Oct 25, 2004 4:28 am
by mole
They seem like pro-town roles to me (I guess "some of the people in town are mafia scum" isn't really an interesting rumour as much as it is confirmed fact), and I didn't get any names.
I think the best way of using this info is to confirm innocent role-claims. Or do a mass claim--I trust your innocence after you caught DB, and if you trust me I can confirm two more innocents, so if you're not one of them that's almost a majority right now.

I wasn't so much vehemently attacking it as I was concerned that it was the first and only theory we had and I thought we should hear others before (if it was wrong) the bad guys jumped all over it to lynch an innocent. In the end your theory seems to have worked out for the good.
As for what I did last night, I went to the arcade. I wasn't told whether there was anyone else there - just the bicyclist who passed me at F.

Save The Dragons wrote:I'm bicycle dude. I saw you, Quailman.
I also saw Jadesmar lying in the street and called 911. Good luck!
But the strange thing is that I didn't go by Jadesmar's house. So therefore it's either not 9, which I don't believe, or that the mafia don't pick houses.
I believe this might answer that issue:

Anyway, I saw nothing of interest last night, except I overheard Phoebus' run in with the authorities.
I would not try mole's roleclaim idea yet since the way his information is phrased isn't helpfull. It leaves open the possiblility that multiple residents have that role (if that role were restricted to one person, the mesage would have been phrased "
only
one of the residents is a _." Add to that the fact that roles can change throughout the game, and the plan seems even less viable at this stage of the game. Perhaps the mass roleclaim would be a good idea when we have a more urgent need to catch scum, but I wouldn't risk it right now.
I'll post some thoughts of who I think is suspicious later when I have time to read through the thread.

Did you visit any place?
Also, I was in the vicinity of your house last night. Was the warrant for your house?

Vote: Yggdrasil
For continuing to post the same sort of nonsense that we lynched DB for yesterday.
This almost seems too easy...

Am I missing something as to why mole doesn't come out and say who he believes to be innocent?
Ygg - what did you do last night?

I don't like what mole just said. I don't like it at all. It feels wrong.
Mole - please clarify. How is what Yggdrasil said like what DB said?

I don't have any names, only roles.
How is what Yggdrasil said like what DB said?
It's the "What If?" game again. When Phoebus was speculating about the nature of his group of three, DB kept proposing new things that the result could have been--what if it was two cultists and a random townie? two kidnappers and a hostage?--and refused to entertain the possibility that they might, in fact, have been up to no good.
Our friend Yggdrasil here likes playing this game as well.
Why would the mafia travel as a group? Why would the mod give such blatant evidence to a player? How can Phoebus be sure of what he saw (remember, this occured during night)? Did someone else pass through the park?
He threw around big words like "quasi-Lepton's Gambit". He italicised the word
night
. And his conclusion was the scummiest thing I've seen thus far in this game--that the way forward would have been to lynch Phoebus, if he wasn't immune at that time.
And now, I've posted my role and hinted at the results I get, and the response is "What if two people have the same role? What if people can change roles?". There doesn't appear to be any logic, or any real thought to it, he's just throwing out there anything he can think of in attempt to discredit me. Just like he and DB were with Phoebus.
And to answer Ygg's questions: a) we'll deal with it in the usual ways we deal with two people claiming the same thing, and b) if people can change roles then they can claim them all and I'll confirm what I can. Unless there's an evil cult--I believe your buddy DB was informed about how likely that is, why don't you ask him? And that's assuming that either of your points are true at all. Got any evidence?

Yggdrasil, who/what did you visit yesterday?
Mole...logical conclusion, yes. But keep your shirt on for now.

Double post: re-iterating the previos question too.
Was your house searched? (ygg?)
And c'mon Quail, tell us what you were doing? I told you what I was...

I said i went to the arcade. What more do you want? The names of the games I played and how many quarters I spent?

Following up from my question to Ygg about what he did last night, I would also be interested to hear is he knows anything about this search warrant which seems to have been brandished about.
Quailman - what made you go to the arcade?
Phoebus - what were you doing in the area around Ygg's house? What makes you think that you were picked up for loitering? Were you standing around watching something?
STD - where did you find jadesmar?
FD, Otaku and Spork - where are you today (and what happened to you last night)?
I have one more thing - I would like to know if anyone passed through intersection B on night 1, and then intersection E on night 2.

Nothing 'made' me go. I went to the gym the night before. I just thought I'd try something else.

I have no idea where I found jadesmar...but due to the fact I saw Quailman going past me from C after I saw jadesmar, it's probably G, H, or E. I'm think F is where I saw Quailman, because that's the only part of my route that I believe I could see someone comming from C.

I'm going to hazard a guess that STD found jadesmar, and thus by extension jadesmar was stabbed, at E. Unless Recky wants to clarify what he meant by that.
