You know.
I could talk about all the shit involving Duterte. About how there's a literal massacring of the poor in the Philippines right now. That the public largely supports. I could also talk about how their PM literally has admitted to murdering people and wishes he had been first to rape a women who was gang-raped and murdered. But, instead, I'll talk about something else.
Manila capped Uber (and Grab but fuck Grab) surge at 2.0x.
This. Is. Terrible. Like, this is regulators overstepping what is right and fair and just because they hate the future. The point of surge is to fucking self-correct the marketplace by using price increases to simultaneously reduce demand and increase supply. It also is something that drivers love because, shocker, drivers make more money when it surges. It makes it worth it for them to come out for things like big events where there'll be a lot of drunk assholes and it'll be sometimes a frustrating experience.
So fuck Manila. Fuck the Philippines.

When I googled for information about this country, it showed me the above image of it's flag as a fingerprint, so I'm assuming that it's therefore of that much importance to everything else and needs cut here.
Also they left that evidence pointing to some crime or other.

145. Turkmenistan
I didn't really WANT to cut Turkmenistan here. But Rory has kind of forced my hand by cutting Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyzstan may have a weird spelling, but it plays an important role in quizzes on Sporcle. But now that it's gone, what other of the former SSR stans deserve to stay in the game?
Kazakhstan has a rich cultural history and a famous inaccurate documentary about it. Uzbekistan has the capital of Tashkent, which was the fourth-largest city in the USSR, a shit ton of cotton production, and the distinction of being doubly-landlocked. Tajikistan has the second-largest flagpole in the world. What does Turkmenistan have?
Not much. Mostly corruption and carpets. They built an Olympic Stadium in Ashgabat, but they not only will never host the Olympics, but have yet to even have a single athlete win a medal! Tajikistan has four medals! There was a nifty-looking monument, but they gave it the boring name of the "Arch of Neutrality". And that was too exciting for them so they took it down!
Anyway, when more interesting Soviet Socialist Republics like Kyrgyzstan are getting cut, it's time to say goodbye to Turkmenistan.

I found that i had a copy of this and appear to have recently placed it in a CD player.
Sorry, I'm going to idol Turkmenistan there, that cut seems to be to do with it's neighboures and not about cutting a country of Earth.
This is the Planet Earth Rankdown and not the Former USSR Rankdown.
I'm not happy with someone looking like they've picked out a region to make a cut.
Also having an Olympic Stadium while not hosting the olympics certainly sounds like they need to stay longer to me.

I have no idea. I never cared enough to vote, so idk why I would have given them money by buying the cd.
I'm assuming it was picked up second-hand for some dumb reason.

While I agree that cutting Turkmenistan here was maybe a bit early (and Kyrgyzstan, too), that seems like a bit of a wasted idol

The more I read about Niyazov, if anything we waited too long to cut Turkmenistan. Dude was just as crazy as the Kims.

Also, my only regret about idoling San Marino is that there's no lasting protection and it got cut again almost immediately.

I thought idols were originally supposed to go super far then we just like ignored it.

i guess this just goes to show that none of us probably have the self control to run a country and if anything makes me respect all these countries even more for making it work even given all the hard times we give them ( :

Okay, everybody will need to use the next 29 cuts on Nicaragua as well or it will still be on the list.
