Well, it seems to me that there aren't necessarily two seperate killing groups. Especially since it would be odd to have them both target the one inactive person. The story, from my interpretation, could just point to one meticulous killer. In both of the times Kylie gets offed, the killer refers to her as "the target." And in the first segment, someone makes a call to a hitman type, I'd guess.

I don't know, I wouldn't eliminate the possiblity of two killing groups, but it doesn't seem to be a necessity.

I believe this is called a 'has-been.'

Your role might be a prime suspect for SK, a 'has-been' who tries to get the spotlight back by taking out the real STAR.

Dirge, I'm not sure I follow. First, the SK is a limo driver, which seems like an unlikely destination for a has-been (what about their palatial mansion?). Second, I doubt the SK would come out and start revealing parts of his/her role unless it was disinformation (see Mini 44). Then again, the risk remains that I am horribly, horribly, wrong.

Number one; let’s look closer at the death scene. There is no mention of a 'limo driver', Cadillac and Lincoln Town Cars are generally the vehicle of choice for limos, Mercedes Benz are the ultimate in upper class transportation and a limo driver is not likely to appreciate the value of a Versace dress.
Number two; I am guessing that in a ‘pop star’ themed game that the scum would be ‘pop stars’. Who better to have as scum than ‘has-beens’? I do think that scum would drop hints as to what they are, especially if their role could possibly be interpreted either way, town/scum e.g. Tiffany (see a lot of other games). I am only FOSing massive. That way, if they are investigated and all the investigation reveals is role name then they can’t be accused of lying.

Crap! I hit submit instead of preview. The "I'm only FOSing massive should have been in another paragraph in which I also stated that I am just throwing ideas out hoping to generate discussion.

A slim, dark figure appears from the shadows and inspects the body in the gutter. It's definitely the target…. is she dead already? One bullet to the head makes sure of it….

Citizens of Hollypop, PBuG (Kylie Minogue - pro-pop) has been brutally murdered! I suggest you do something about ridding the evil from your midst - and quickly!

It is now Day 1.
After more thought, it appears that at least two mafia exist (probably 3, since in these small games that is a common number). The two figures were
only
four minutes apart. I doubt a sk could work that well in tandem w/ a mafia member.

What is a "pro-pop"? Does anyone know? I know that PBuG was one and was out at night when the town is supposedly asleep. Maybe it is/was a specail role? Or is it a regular townie, in a town that never sleeps?

We live in Hollypop 8), I assume that everyone is a popstar. The same way that everyone with a home in Beverly Hills is rich. That doesn't mean that they all are nice.

OK, there's something obvious about big_kahunia's last post that I'm surprised either Viqles or Dirge didn't pick up on.

And on top of that - Dirge, aren't you forgetting something? Like, namely, that our first death was a has-been, and pro-town?

vote Dirge, FOS Viqles

Kylie is, ...er was... a contemporary and being more popular in the Southern Hemisphere is not the same as being a ‘has-been’. I think you might be scum massive.

I now see what the big deal is with big K's post. After reading my role PM I see that he should know what "pro-pop" is.

That leads me to ask of massive why you have your, what amounts to a OMGUS, vote on me when there is a really good reason to have a vote on big K? You're good observation of big K's mistake doesn't clear you. You could be hoping to turn the heat off yourself and on to someone else.

I originally did have a vote for big_kahunia in my post. I then realized that it COULD have been a trap (I don't know anything about big_kahunia's playing style), and rather than spring it, I decided to see what he had in store. The fact that you and Viqles missed it was much more interesting to me at the time (although I will agree that I have had you in the forefront of my head for the entire game :) )

In fact, the original post had a long diatribe about why I thought big_kahunia could be the SK ... if you look at his posts, he goes from "there's probably two mafias and not an SK" to "I'm certain there's one mafia and one SK" to "you know, I can't imagine there's an SK" and it's really no other content beyond that. And I had a big_kahunia vote in there, so it's no skin off my back.

Just like it didn't clear me - it doesn't clear you, Dirge. Not in my mind, anyways. But there is better justification to
unvote Dirge, vote big_kahunia

I'd still say that there's only one mafia and we're reading too much into this, but whatever....

Good catch, massive. I honestly didn't notice that slip-up by Kahunia. Seems like pretty reasonable evidence to me.

massive: why do you think they get extra kills? I said this earlier, but the story, to me at least, looks like a singular, meticulous killer.

There probabaly are other killing roles, but I'd doubt they are separate mafias.

stupid_: You think that one singular person hit PBuG with a car, then went back a few minutes later and put a bullet in him? This isn't CSI where people have to clean up after themselves; this is Mafia. ;) If you send in a kill and a doctor blocks it, you don't get the option to double-back and put a bullet in their head AGAIN to make sure they're dead.

I never said the Mafia get extra kills, but thanks for continuing the trend of putting words in my mouth. ;) The death scene quite clearly put out two killing groups who BOTH targeted PBuG last night, and up until this series of posts, I was convinced we all agreed on AT LEAST the fact that there were two killing groups.

I personally agree with the two killing groups assumption.

I did catch the slip by Big K when I was reading, only to scroll down and see that other people did as well. But even if he was evil wouldn't he have something to the effect of "anti-pop"? So why wouldn't he know what pro-pop was? So this leads me to believe he has some kind of neutral role, if thats possible?

Anywho....

Sorry guess I interpreted you thinking about a mafia with extra kills as actually considering that the mafia might have extra kills  Pardon me for "putting words in your mouth"

Anyways, as I said before, the kills were 4 minutes apart, both refer to Kylie as "the target," referring, i believe, to the first event, in which someone obviously calls in a hit on Kylie, and the second killer comes out of the shadows after the driver turns around the corner.

But you are right, having someone be VERY sure they killed somebody isn't normal for a mafia game. But I still don't consider multiple killing groups a done deal. Not that we can really know until tomorrow, of course. Anyways, assuming that there are two killers, I'd say that its a mafia and an SK. Its very obvious at least one of the kills was called in by a third party, which says mafia to me. If the driver was not the same as the third killer, then there was no corresponding call for the second kill, leading me to believe it was an independant act.
