I am considering advocating the pact for the sole purpose of being controversial, but the question that tubby needs to answer first and foremost is
why does it help the town to do this?
It feels like the only reason to do it is out of novelty.

Scum.

I don't think we are going to do tubby's plan, so discussion about it should cease.

Sorry, but this is my RVS strategy. In the past it has helped end RVS faster an with more information than before I used this strategy... or maybe its the fact that I have been playing with more active players! But yeah, that's it.

I wager RVS is already over.

There are many actual things to talk about right now:
1.) The 'Pact'
2.) People freaking out over the pact, e.g. kyle (when we should be ignoring it, really)
3.) My claim

Competing bandwagons don't give 'more' information. In fact, it probably gives relief to the guys who are being pressured, which is bad. If you're getting bandwagoned, you should be sweating, not relaxing in the hope that someone else will get lynched before you.

bogre,
your close but competing wagons are win. especially in a game this large. it aviods the town from getting tunnel visioned and puts equal pressure on two possible scum players.

why i think the pact is a good idea.

i was taught the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time but what if we can turn that elephant into say a much more managable thing like a Hero samwich?
By having a pact of ten players you no longer have to worry about them and they inturn become one voice or one player wich makes it a 13 player game.

@adel, doesn't that defeat the purpose of him having a alt.? wich btw i assume everyone is one of three people (BM,Haylen,TSQ) untill proven otherwise.

1) The pact is a dumb idea from either scum or town.
2) Freaking out about the pact is a dumb idea from either scum or town. You even admit we should be ignoring it so I don't see how 1 is us being out of RVS.
3) A valid point. But only a small amount of information can be read from your claim. Thank you for telling cops not to investigate you. But until we learn more of your alignment from actions, there is not much to comment on.
4) Competing wagons do give a LOT of information. If a player is scum, most of his buddies will be on the other wagon. If a new wagon opens up while a wagon on scum is still active, look at the players joining the new wagon to see if they are scum.

Shit, son. I go away for half a day and this is what I get? Activity, seriously?

Now I gotta read up. Hold on.

tubby, pact: this discussion was fine in International Mafia, but I don't want this again. There's no real value to it, but it does bring cliquey behavior and unnecessary arbitrariness into the picture. And the fact that you state that "it's a way to get out of RVS" robs it even of the debatable value of promoting discussion, since it only does that if we (appear to) take it seriously.

And please, czar, no roleplaying. It's a complete waste of text, functionally speaking. I'm glad you don't seem to be keeping it up.

No, but thats not saying much I have limited experiance on MS.
Nor do I, but I probably wouldn't be happy with a policy lynch anyway, unless it's a really good reason to do it.
Nice filler post. You managed not to say anything of actual relevance.

Aaand nice jump on the bandwagon of negativity regarding tubby's pact. "Ridiculous" is not a tell of alignment in any sensible argument.

I'm interested in whether charter has a reason for his vote. Yes/no will suffice.

My main isn't really high profile, though, so whatever. :P (shrug)

I was going to say that viging claimed millers is >> lynching them, but when we get as many lynches per day as we want, I guess that doesn't apply.

But either way, determining his alignment by evaluating his play and lynching or not lynching him based on that is > any kind of policy killing.

Strangely you're not the only one who wants to know. But I would like to hear the reason.

May I?

and Tubby, would it not become an easier game for if the scum could get it down to n scum in 10 players instead of n scum in 22? Because that's the only benifit I can see.
To my mind it's an inherintly scummy suggestion.

wow, I really didn't read the rules carefully enough:
TDC wrote:
[*]Lynching
  • Once an absolute majority of votes is reached, the player in question is removed from the game. This does not end the game day, but the vote count resets.
  • There is no limit on the number of lynches per game day.
[*]End of Day
  • I will, as soon as possible and in that order:
    • Reveal all lynches of the day.
I think that four or five lynches is the correct number of lynches for a day 1 with 22 players. We should carry them out one at a time, and not worry about the next lynch until we've carried out the present lynch.

Laziness. Spitting out a thin lie about a seemingly minor point so the tubby wagon wouldn't get stuck in an "Oh, hai, kyle flip-flopped" rut. Kyle had to give a little push because

my weighted determination of the trade offs. In a game this size 5 about lynches is necessary for really good scumhunting to begin. More lynches than could make the net result of the lynches too swingy, totally screwing us if they are all mislynches.
