And not post when you've been banned. Have a bit of integrity.

I'd like to point out that it's really annoying when people post in spam threads, can we please have a policy of deleting the whole thread to discourage this?

Once again. How much more annoying is it than a spam topic started by a "legitimate" member?
Given the drama that hangs around GD, the moychandising is relatively safe.

There's a difference between spamming in spam threads and posting in spam threads. So what if spam starts a topic of discussion?

You're confusing "spam" as in threads that have a lot of posts, with "spam" as in unsolicited commercial messages. Posting in the latter sort of thread
bumps it up to the top of the forum, thus making it incredibly more annyoing for people who do not come to mafiascum to see advertisements for fraudulent products
. Every post you make in such a thread is aiding and abetting the original spammer in their attempt to draw attention they have no right to.

The problem
is posting
in spam threads. It's not that you're spamming yourself, it's that you're aggravating the spam by bumping it to the top of the forum. If you want to have a real discussion about it,
make a new thread
.

I don't come to ms to see advertisements for fraudulent drama either, but that doesn't stop those topics from going around.

Let the links be deleted by a mod and let us continue making fun of the obviously fraudulent products. It's not like we're under a bot invasion.

Two problems with this.
One, we clearly don't want real discussion (at least at first) to come from bot topics. That's... kind of the point of making fun of them.
Two, making a new thread defeats the purpose because you're taking away the reason the discussion is occurring in the first place (namely, the bot attempting to advertise here).

But is it still spam?

bumping that spam thread is the nested GD meme. Please do not delete that thread, I really enjoy it. It adds beauty and joy to my life.

The spambot's thread is more interesting than xXXxxxXReckonerXxxxXxX's thread. We should delete that one instead.

 You don't delete threads based on how interesting it is. If that was the case, I'm sure half the threads in GD would have been deleted. But seriously, I agree with Xyl. Ads for products on a site's forum is spam, and the person should be IP banned right away.

I admire the robot. Like one of millions of battling sperm, the thing bested our captcha and email confirmation.
They
have learned to read.

Go little sperm, go.

giggle

On a more serious note. I do not care much. Mith will probably delete it and the whole thread. Thus making conversation deleted, problem solved.

I'd like to set a watch on Neon Appliances. The name screams either "Bot" or "I WANT TO SELL YOU NEON APPLIANCES!"
