I'm struggling with this manatee claim the more I look at it.
The initial claim is that it kills a random townie if it's not on the Lim wagon.
Then it's clarified that it kills the person it's on if they aren't the Lim wagon.
Then it's further clarified that it's once again a random player if the vote isn't placed at all.
I feel like that is a lot of edits for one, but I'm really struggling with the random aspect of it. Is it random townie, or can scum be in the pool? Does this seem like a role that should have an actual random modifier to it? Does this seem like a role that would be more than 1-shot in a 13 player game?
I think I'm still at L-2, so why hasn't there been any discussion on where to direct this shot considering how hard LLD has been pushing to have me ran through?
I'm surprised at how little discussion has been had on this, and if the role exists it seems like a role very susceptible to scum influence.

Scum influence and not actually belonging to scum?
It feels like you spent most of the post saying Manatee was scummy and then pivoted into this

Wow, your reading comprehension is garbage.
I'd like to point out that saying this, but not clarifying in what way Dunnstral has misinterpreted you, is scummy.

Then on your reread of the post, you'll notice I talked almost exclusively about the role and the lack of discussion surrounding it's mechanics as we approach end of day.
BTW, I don't know why you have this giant mancrush on me spanning multiple games, but I'm married.
But if anything ever happened to her, I'd kill everyone in this room, and then myself.
painbringer?
We've rushed some stuff I would rather have taken more sedately because it's felt like this could be a short gameday. it comes down to role and reads. plural.

I know ffery has a hard time getting over things, and I imagine Fortress still is relevant in her mind
Not so much getting over things as giving room for my read to form without pressure and yours to form however it forms.
I townread you in
that game
and tried to work with you over what seemed like weeks. There was no mind-meeting, and your read eventually acidified mine and it degraded badly. And I was stuck with not enough scumreads and not enough stuff making sense. I had no conviction you were flipping scum and the essential lack of agency in the role was also acidic. Bell had too many scum reads, but I think that was a more comfortable and familiar place for him to play from.
My hedge against a similar spiral is to not get invested early.
So take me with a grain of salt. I feel like DGB and Toog might not be aligned. DGB's posts about him feels kinda performative to me.
I've been reading some recent toog scumgames today and 2 of the 3 I found are not normal-ish mechanics so maybe they're not that relevant. In one of the mystery box of silver potions games he initially focused on 3rd party hunting and floated the idea there might not be traditional antitown roles.
It's not quite the same thing as his focus on manatee's role, but it feels similar to me anyway.
I'm not finished reading/thinking, but DGB's recent posts started a thought chain.
I don't know why people are bothered about Manatee's role still.
All we have to do is to use her role to get a double day elimination and if she doesn't comply we yeet her.
It is that simple.

The bother could be ai. I glossed over some ai bother regarding my role in the bloodstained game, and I shouldn't have. the players who stood out in their reactions were scum.
