In that case, I shall FoS: Ogre
Why the FOS then?

I was playing this wierd game the other day. Still, I think that the posting rate is low because people are unsure of what to do. In a normal 'Day 1', we would mostly be getting someone to 4 votes, getting a claim and going from there. What makes this game seemingly different is that the roles are fluid and therefore we are hesitant to bandwagon. The roles at first glance, may appear to be static enough that claims should work because:
1. The role is available to be exercised for 1 night following a claim.
2. If the player is killed, the role dies with them.
The only thing standing in the way of this theory is the fact that there will be no such thing as a pro-town role. This probably, actually, means that claims won't work, except to attempt to preserve a valuable item, but they will have no means of working out if someone is mafia.
What does everybody think?

I think day 1 is especially tough this game. After we all shipped our items, we get some more options as we all know who we sent our item to and what that item was, thus knowing something about one player. Which item a player had and who (s)he sent it to when will be the most useful info we have I think and that will be how we catch mafia.

There will certainly be pertinent information to go around.
Player Y
who received items can confirm if
Player X
claims to have sent the item. That may give us something to work with, at least.

As of this post, Changling Bob replaces Ogre. I am still looking for a replacement for Kadath32.

*jumps into thread*
Just looking at the information we have to work on at the moment, each person will be aware of the item currently owned by one person, having sent it to them. I suppose this information could be used to co-ordinate night actions, although I'm not certain whether this would be good or not.
One idea that springs to mind: We could all claim the items that we
had
last night. This will give us information as to what sort of setup we have, that could be to our advantage. I realise that normally a mass claim on day one is not the best idea in the world, but this is hardly a normal game. As long as we don't disclose what we currently have, the mafia should be none the wiser as to who to kill, although will give them an idea as to what sort of power level the town has.
Currently I have very little to go on regarding people's scumminess, what with Aelyn messing up (
), but I'm sure more will be forthcoming.

Good idea. I had the Police Radio. LOL.
joking.
But if everybody's okay with it, I think it could work.

I can go with this. In fact, it might be better if we claimed what
role
we had last night, and save the actual item part for confirmation of actually having the item. I don't know what difference it would make or not.
If we do it, we should set up a claim order, in the same vein of "have one person claim (probably PBuG to start), then that person picks the next claimee, and so forth.

I'm tempted to go along with this too. It would show what powers the town has, but like others have mentioned, it may be the best thing to do.

I'm on board with this as well. I don't think we should make a big deal out of item name or power. One of the two will do at first. The orher part can be used for confirmation.

I'm ok with this too, but

while the role cannot neccesarily be used to deduce the item, the item (a police radio) for example, can have an easily deducable role. I think we should role-claim the role of the item we had last night and I'm happy for PBuG to start and to choose the next person to go.
We should, however, wait for everyone to confirm that they are happy with this before beginning. With this in mind, I have looked back over the last few posts and I think that everyone apart from the following have stated that they are happy. (Please correct me if you're not on the list and you are not happy to role claim).
Changling bob
Mr_Gnome_It_All
