Just had a idea for a game which i wanted to run for marathon day .
Based on the Heroes theme ...
The game has people with varying powers , with some powers being more 'special' than others. We represent them with points.
We have
3 people with 3 power points
3 people with 2 power points
3 people with 1 power points
3 people with 0 power points (People with no powers)
Mafia consists of 3 players. (3,2,1) power points each
Sylar is the SK and starts off with no powers (0 points). Every night he kills someone and absorbs their powers (i.e his points is increased by the points of the person he killed)
Mafia win when their total points > (Points of Town + Points of SK) *
Sk wins when his/her points > (Points of Town + Points of Mafia)
Town wins when all bad guys are dead.
* Obv. when calculating points for mafia , we only consider players alive- ooba

Just an idea I wanted to throw out there ..
Smalltown: Round table Mafia
Day start
12 players
2 mafia
1 isolated mafia traitor
- does not know who the mafia are
- can search each night for mafia - joins team at daybreak if thats the case
1 SK
8 townies
Scum have a night kill but cannot use their night ability if they are making the kill.
SK can kill and use his\her night ability.
Setting: A group of players sitting around a rotatable table with role slips in front of each.
Each day town
-Lynches a person
The person and the role is booted out of the table
-Also decides how much to spin the table by
works like a normal vote by sayingSpin: <number>- the spin with the highest votes at lynch wins; earlier vote wins in case of a tie
Example:
I will initially randomize the roles amongst players. This is how the roles will look at the start of D1.
DataStrokers - Role A
LordChronos - Role B
Flava Flave - Role C
Andrius - Role D
Shadow Dancer - Role e
Jack - Role F
Iecerint - Role G
ooba - Role H
Plum - Role I
Johoohno - Role J
Snow_Bunny - Role K
VasudeVa - Role L
Now if we assume Jack is lynched and spin winner is 2, this is what would happen:
Jack dies - his alignment is revealed. Role F is also removed from the game. Then all roles shift by 2. So the distribution going into night 1 would be:
DataStrokers - Role K
LordChronos - Role L
Flava Flave - Role A
Andrius - Role B
Shadow Dancer - Role C
Iecerint - Role D
ooba - Role e
Plum - Role G
Johoohno - Role H
Snow_Bunny - Role I
VasudeVa - Role J
I expect two dominant themes in the game:
a) "Should we really lynch scummy plum when she is powerful role G?" type situations
b) "If we shift by 2, it means we give our pro-town player powerful role C but scummy player also gets a good skill." type situations
I haven't thought much about the roles. Off the top of my head:
Tracker, CPR Doc, Roleblocker, Commuter, Masonizer, Redirector, Self Watcher, VT, Double Voter
Seat switcher: Once per day, can switch seats with another player. (switch places on the player list)
BP Vest: One-shot bulletproof. Gets used after the first kill on it. (Spot converts to VT after that)
Lawyer: Every night you may choose one person to work for. In the day, if that person ever gets voted for, you may use your debate skill once per day to erase all the votes currently dealt on that person, and anyone who had voted for that person would be unable to vote for that person again.- ooba

So players submit a list of 5 traits based on what they think the role is - each trait is tied to a role - you decide one trait=role for everyone so that the setup is balanced.animorpherv1 wrote:The Sims 3 Mafia.

Evil - Killing role
Charismatic - Roleblocker
Couch Potato - Vanilla Townie
Family Oriented - Mason
Coward - Commuter
I'm not sure fixed trait = this role is such a good idea; Rather the idea of players suggesting five traits out of which you you pick three and create a role which captures all three traits seems much more fun to me - both from a mod-setup creation perspective and from a player perspective.- ooba

Hmm.. I like that idea.
Would you be willing to back-up for me?

Odd Man Out
No lynch setup
8 CRs - each with a one-shot day recruit
One Recruitable Townie - who gets a daykill for every RL day (not cumulative - so he can have at any time a maximum of one kill)
A CR wins if he recruits the townie successfully (Townie loses in this case) - dies if his one-shot is on another CR
The townie wins if he makes it to the last three and
- one of the CRs targets the other CR (or)
- Kills one of them- ooba

Just thought I should say that Odd Man Out has been run about 5 times in marathon day and looks to be fun. Quilford made a change to the previous setup by giving the townie a Vengeful.

4 CRs - each with a one-shot day recruit
One Recruitable Vengeful Townie
A CR dies if his one-shot is on another CR
If the CR recruits the townie
- Townie gets a Vengeful kill. If he targets the correct CR, he wins
- Otherwise, the CR wins
The townie wins if he makes it to the last two (or) correctly kills the CR who recruited him - ooba
