The Rules, Slightly Modified (from rajhcpfreak, who took them from rolandofthewhite):

1. Votes must be in bold. If you do not bold your vote, it will not be counted. The format for votes should be Vote: Rosso Carne. Please avoid abbreviating names if possible. (Please do not vote for Rosso Carne.)
2. Please be attentive and unvote before casting a new vote. If you do not unvote, your new vote will not be counted.
3. Lynches will require a simple majority of votes. Once a player has reached the necessary majority, his pleas are useless and any attempts to unvote will be unheeded. You may vote: no lynch – majority votes of this kind are necessary to end the day without a death.
4. The game is not to be discussed outside of the thread unless your role specifically states that you may do so.
5. Once your death scene has been posted, you’re dead. Please, no Bah! Posts of any kind are allowed.
6. Don’t edit/delete previously submitted posts.
7. Don’t quote any PMs from me.
8. If you have a night choice to make, it is due by the posted deadline. I will prod you once, approximately a day before your choice is due. However, I will not wait for you. If you do not submit a choice to me, tough! No choice will be made.
9. Any deadline that is set for the day, if it is reached without a majority, results in No Lynch.
10. If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 48-hour period, please post a notice to that effect in the thread. Treat this game as a commitment. Be considerate – don’t leave us hanging.
11. I will prod you if you are lurking, if you do not respond and continue to lurk, you will be replaced.
11. Remember, it’s a game. It’s supposed to played. It’s supposed to be fun. Do your part.

THIS NEXT ONE IS NOT NORMAL, SO READ IT!!!

12. There is a law system in place for this game The system works as follows.

Every day, a president is elected by an Electoral College (this is a role). The president then adds and/or removes 1 law to the constitution. This is done at the start of the day, in thread. No one can vote until the law has been made. If you break a law, you cannot talk or vote for the rest of the day. Anyone can be made president, town or scum. Presidents can be lynched. LAWS ARE SUBJECT TO MOD APPROVAL.

Examples of nonworking laws: EVERYONE MUST VOTE FOR BLARG XD
No Voting

If there are any questions about the law system, PM me and I will answer them.

Zu_Faul has not confirmed. But He has picked up his PM. Thus, we'll start the game, because if he's gone, he's gone anyway.

DAY!!!!

You all wake up to a loud beeping. You walk outside and head for the town square, to find a huge fax machine sitting there. The fax machine whirrs and beeps, and slowly a gigantic piece of paper prints out, and this is what is written on it

THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE HAS DETERMINED THAT PRIMATE IS THE PRESIDENT TODAY. THE FIRST THING HE MUST DO IS MAKE A LAW. THE LAW WILL BE MADE IN THIS THREAD. HE WILL PROPOSE A LAW IN THE FORMAT HE WOULD VOTE, EXCEPT USING "PROPOSE:" INSTEAD OF VOTE. THIS LAW THEN WILL BE APPROVED OR DISAPPROVED.

Everyone looks at Primate, who grins sheepishly.

Primate is president. He must make one law. Voting cannot commence until a law is made. Discussion and suggestion of laws by townspeople is perfectly fine.

LAW PROPOSAL:
What about in their next post, each player must post the role NAME they have, without lieing? Not the role (too broken), but the NAME.

I'd have to disagree. This could lead to A: Easy setups for the Mafia to target specific roles they consider potentially dangerous and B: give an easy win condition for any type of Specialty Lyncher (like, for example, if their win condition was to find out who and lynch the Thingamabober.)

I know it's a bit of a stetch, but I'd doubt a law like that would stand.

This is day one, so how about some sort of law that limits random voting, like:
LAW PROPOSAL:
All votes must be accompanied by at least 3 sentences of reasoning.

Or something like that. You're the prez, Primate, law is yours.
If you came here expecting anything even remotely resembling that of a signature, you are sadly mistaken...

Well I guess zu_Faul is not the Electoral College!!!

Hail to Primate.

LAW PROPOSAL:
I would like to propose a law that prevents lurking or non contribution, which has spoiled the last two games I was in. It may work such that if anyone does not check in and post every 48 hours (unless advance warning was given) they are effectively barred for the rest of the day. Could be dangerouse though...

HAIL KING PRIMATE! :D

Anyway, my idea for a law would be something like: Players are not allowed to lie about their role.

It would give us a great chance of finding the scum, because they would be the ones who wouldnt claim. :P
Or you could have something to do with bad grammar being illegal.

LAW PROPOSAL: All votes must be accompanied by at least 3 sentences of reasoning *for the choice of vote*.

wouldn't want any nitpicking

and yes, I am far to lazy to quote.

In a bit, I'll whip up a list of four or five broken things, and send them off to the mod, see if he approves any. My favourite broken one is 'Townies are not allowed to vote for other townies'.

If we can't get away with something broken, my two favourite choices, are

#1: Something that would force people to move their vote around more, but not broken in endgame to the point of having to be removed by a later mayor.

#2: Something completely irrelevant, that will mean that no-one ever gets randomly banned from the game for forgetting to do something silly, like put an extra line in his explanations .

Still thinking though. Your king will not let you down.

how about: "You are not allowed to use the same letter twice in a row, even if there is a space between the letters."
That could result in alot of mod-kills. :P

In general I support this idea, but it has to be formulated carefully as to prevent the game from dieing.

This law puts no standard on quality, only quantity. I think we can come up with something far more helpful.

Hi JDodge. I'm not saying quantity, more regularity. In the last couple of games I was in many accusations seemed to go unanswered and forgotten as the regularity of posts from certain players was so poor. At least if people are posting you know they are checking in, and so if they are not answering questions then there is a reason they chose not to do so.

On that note, maybe we could have a truth or dare type law where every question asked of a player must be answered by that player?

I think it is worth reminding players that this is not a pointless exercise. Mindless suggestions will be judged as suspicious stuff-n-things!!!

I like the idea of posting a lot....I like speed games where people have to post often because I have no patience.....Also, I think scum tend to lurk, post less, etc....This would give them more of a chance to slip up.

I dislike the idea of a 48hr thing. I mean, it's good in principle, but I just think it'd be too easy to fall on the bad side of it and up unable to post over just not posting. If you think you can cope, then fair enough, I'll consider it, but I have doubts.

By posting non-game content.

My post every 48 hours will be regarding what the best flavor of pie is.

I tend to lurk until a discussion gets going. That's why I don't want it.

I think a lot of people will miss it. They'll say 'oh I'll post tomorrow', then something will come up, and they'll be unable, and then they end up not being able to post for the rest of the day. I think people will learn their lesson after a couple, but you still end up with a couple of people unable to post. I'm definitely not averse to something that makes people more active, but I don't know if I'd want to use something that if failed, locks people out of the game to do it.

Saying that it will stop people lurking is true, but very idealistic. People are lazy, and they will fail.

I see your points, but isn't a LAW if Primate says so?...If people don't follow the law, they won't be able to post for the rest of the day...IMO, people who are actually pro-town would have to keep posting; if nothing to at least not be lynched....Can't you make it like, you must post at least 5 sentences every 48 hours or something like that?

Also, it's okay with me if we don't go this route, but what are the other suggestions right now that you (Primate) are considering?

Would you agree to a law that said people would be unconditionally modkilled if they don't post every 48 hours?
