You're in a dark space. You don't know how you got here, but you know you're not alone. You can hear muffled, guttural noises from a few feet in front of you. You can sense what feels like dry, cold sand falling out from under your feet, but you never seem to move. You can hear the noises before you grow louder for a second, then stop with a thud.
The lights turn on.
After your eyes adjust, you see that the light is emanating from what appears to be a generator in the middle of the room. And slumped against the machine is a body; although it is clearly male, you have trouble discerning the species. It has the head of a feline, the torso of a human and the tail of a serpent. You notice that, stapled to the creature's torso, a note lies waiting. Through the fresh blood you manage to pick out the letters,
