Shape the Scummies: Join the Scummies Steering Committee

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Tue Apr 24, 2018 3:58 am

The 2017 Scummies are over and it's time to decide on the direction of future scummies. We have a need for new people to help us in this endeavor. Please send an application to me with the following:

1. What is your experience with mafia games generally? On Mafiascum?
2. What do you think are the good and bad things about the scummies?
3. What changes would you make?
4. What makes you an asset to the Scummies Steering Committee?

Thank you

Thank you
1: I don't feel like I need to answer this.
2: I think the biggest issue with the scummies (for every time I payed attention to the process) was the judging. Judges aren't actually invested enough to read as many games as they need to to make informed choices. We've thought bringing in new judges or focusing the judges into fewer people could fix this. It hasn't.
3: I don't really have any interest in joining the Committee long term, however I do have a proposal on how to address the scummies going forward, and if that proposal was accepted, would see things through the transition. I think we should move to strictly having a community wide vote for all awards, much like was done this year for best game. I think it could be split into an automated nomination process, and then an automatic voting stage. The only job for the committee would be curating the list of awards, and managing organization for making an assignment of banners.
4: I have the technical skills to implement the nomination/voting process

Can I take that and use it as my answer?
