Rules

All rules listed in the Boilerplate Game Rules (rev. April 23, 2014) page apply to this game except where contradicted in the additional rules below:

1. Day phases will have a deadline of two weeks. There are no Night phases in this game. Deadline extensions will be granted only in extenuating circumstances.
2. There are no eliminations in this game.
3. Dead players and spectators may not post until the game has been officially declared over. No "Bah!" posts.
4. Prods are automatically issued after 48 hours of inactivity. Players who have been prodded have 48 hours to post in the game thread before a replacement is sought. Players who have not posted during the Day phase or who have not responded to their Night prods will be replaced. An excessive number of prods can lead to replacement without further notice. Any player may request a prod at any time.
5. Votes placed by accounts not present in the game will not be counted. Vote tricks will not be tolerated, and any judgment passed over the validity of any ambiguous votes is final.
6. Do not use

   . All other formatting is fair game.
7. Flavor is for entertainment purposes only and has no significance in the game.
8. Any situations not covered above will be handled on an individual basis. I reserve the right to add, modify, or remove rules as necessary.

Setup

IF YOU ARE USING THIS POST AS REFERENCE FOR RUNNING THIS SETUP, THEN PLEASE READ THIS POST.

The 10-player Trust Fall open setup consists of two mafiosi, eight townies, and the following mechanics:

• This game has no eliminations during the Day phase.
  
• To use the Trust Fall mechanic, one player must post
  I trust X
  (in bold). Player X must reciprocate. Once this occurs, the two players will exit the game together, and their alignments will be revealed.
  
• Trust fall requests can be rescinded by posting
  Untrust: X
  in the thread before the target player reciprocates. Once a trust fall has been reciprocated, it will go through.
  
• Players may offer more than one trust fall at a time and similarly may rescind as many as they wish.
  
• Mafia cannot trust fall together. If the mafia attempt to trust fall together, then nothing will happen.
  
• Mafia wins when both mafia players have exited the game. Town wins when there is the same number of mafia and town players still in the game.

Some changes have been added to the setup information, including win conditions, to better clarify how the setup works. This does not materially change the setup. Please note the following:

• The town win condition is now "You win when you can prevent the mafia win condition by gaining parity with them". In other words, town wins when there is the same number of mafia and town players still in the game.
