Rules:

Participation

All players must post at least once every 96 hours (preferably more!). Prods will be sent to players who have failed to post for 48-72 hours, but do not rely on these - if 96 hours passes without a post from you, you will be replaced.

If something unexpected comes up in the middle of the game, notify the moderator ASAP.

Post Content

Voting and Unvoting should be posted in bold at the bottom (end) of the post. Unvoting is not required when switching your vote to someone else (but is encouraged for consistency). Unambiguous misspellings will be counted as if they were correct.

The following tags are not allowed:
, , , , ,
,

Code: Select all

,
, [dice],
Do not quote private communications with the moderator. (Since all roles and alignment PMs are listed below, you may freely quote them.)

Questions should not be directed to the moderator in the thread. If you have any question about the game, ask it by PM. If it is something that everyone needs to be aware of, the mod will make a public announcement.

Timing

The game will start with day. Day will last a maximum of 17 realtime days. If no one has received a majority of votes by the end of day, no one will be lynched.

Night will last a minimum of 48 hours and a maximum of 72 hours. Choices not received before the deadline will be lost. Players are encouraged to send choices early, where possible. If the SK (Beekeeping Horse) is still alive, the will be an additional period of time (up to 48 hours) for the Church of England's target to choose "Cake or Death?". If the target fails to choose, they will default to "Cake".

End of Game

The game will end immediately if an alignment's win condition is achieved. If no alignment has achieved their win condition and no one is killed for two consecutive day/night cycles, the moderator will be declared the winner, all players will lose, and the game will end.

General Rules

1. Have fun, and don't be a jerk.
2. Read all the rules carefully and make sure you will be able to follow them. Unexpected things do come up, and in that case, let the moderator know as soon as possible so a replacement can be found, but if you just flake, expect to be barred from future mith games for a while.
3. No editing or deleting your posts.
4. No invisible text; no extraneous formatting tags.
5. When you're dead, you're dead. No posting in the game thread until the game is over, unless your role specifies otherwise. This includes "Bah!" posts.
6. No talking outside the thread, unless a game mechanic explicitly allows it.
7. No talking in the thread at night, even if the mod forgets to close it.
8. You are expected to read your Role PM in its entirety.
9. The moderator is always right, even when he isn't. Accept the moderator's decisions, and if you want to discuss them, take it to private messages, or do so after the game has finished.[/ooc]

Roles:

Immortal man! Immortal body! Except you have an Achilles' Heel... Well, you've decided to encase it in a block of concrete. No problem at all!

Abilities:
Limited Vigilante - Each night, you may attempt to kill one other player ("stabbed"). However, due to your limited range of motion, you will only be successful if they target you with an ability (including alignment abilities). Sadly, your mom lied about that whole protection thing, and you are as vulnerable to dying as anyone else.

The second Son of God, sent to save the dinosaurs... well, that didn't work out so well. It's a good thing that the Holy Catholic Church of Dinosaurs isn't picky about who they let in.

Abilities:
Savior - Each night, you may recruit someone into the Church of Dinosaurs. This doesn't have any affect on alignment, but it's a nice social club. All members of the Church of Dinosaurs may communicate privately, starting from the day after they join.

Is that your horse? Better nail a bit of semi-circular metal to each of his feet... You ever had a blowout on a horse doing 70?

Abilities:
Horseshoer - Each night, you may choose a target, and nail horseshoes to that player's feet. With all the daytime confusion no one will notice; however, in the still of the night Noah will be able to hear them.

You have a show tomorrow, and your mind seems to have exploded! Characters are running around your dressing room, and you feel a strange desire to play a game with them. How very odd.

Abilities:
Ad Lib - Once during the game, you may reshuffle the other roles in the game. If you choose to do this during the day, you must post
Ad Lib
at the beginning of your post, followed by a list of player/role assignments; your changes will take effect immediately, unless the deciding vote has already been cast or deadline has passed, in which case you must wait until the following night. Your list will be ignored if it is incomplete, erroneous, or otherwise ambiguous (and you can try again later). You can leave some players unchanged if you wish. If you use your ability at night, the roles will be changed at the start of the following day (unless you are killed). This ability cannot be blocked or avoided by the other players.

You're not one of those weirdo transvestites. Though you do have a tendency to throw women's clothing at random people. Hm. That's not weird, is it?

Abilities:
Makeup Artist - Each night, you may choose a male character. That night, and each following night, your target will cross-dress, and look like a woman (or at least a bloke in a dress) for the purposes of Paris' ability. If your target already cross-dresses, your ability will have no effect (this includes the Beekeeping Horse), just as if you were blocked or avoided. You will not be informed if your ability has no effect.

You're a Mason! Ah-ha, box clever, see. But why do all the voices hear sound like your own?

Abilities:
Mimic - Since Eddie uses your voice so much for characters, you can use this to your advantage and redirect each of one player's night actions to a new target. You will not be told if this is unsuccessful (due to blocking, immunity, not using a nightchoice, or otherwise). You may not use this ability to redirect Ad Lib or Stunt Double (though it will redirect those players' alignment abilities, if applicable). Practice takes precendence over this ability (though you can redirect Practice if you are not blocked).

You are Darth's less powerful but more popular younger brother. Everyone wants your autograph, but fortunately your brother gets all the screen time so no one actually knows where you are or how to reach you.

Abilities:
Not the Vader You're Looking For - You are untargettable by all role abilities except Ad Lib. Alignment abilities may still target you.

You've decided to try something different for branding purposes. But no one has caught on that you're only one person - well, dog, anyway - so you may as well take advantage of that.

Abilities:
Double Voter - During the day, your vote counts double. While you are alive, a lynch requires a majority of available votes.

You want to teach the whole world to play sexy tunes on the clarinet. They just need practice...

Abilities:
Practice - Each Night, you may choose a player. That player will be forced to practice their clarinet, and be blocked from using any night abilities. Their playing will be so awful that they will block out the experience, and not remember they had to practice instead of doing whatever else they may have wanted to do. Ad Lib and Stunt Double cannot be blocked in this way (but those players' alignment abilities can, if applicable). The Beekeeping Horse's kill cannot be blocked in this way (but that player's role ability can, if applicable). You will not be told whether your ability had any effect.

God has commanded you to build an ark! You wanted to make it a speedboat, but never mind. It took you a long time to find a horse to complete your manifest, so your ears are attuned to listening for them.

Abilities:
Horse Listener - Each night, you may choose a target. If that player is targeted by any other player wearing horseshoes, you will hear it. You will only be told whether you hear horseshoes or not (not how many different players with horseshoes approached). If you do not hear anything, you will not be told why (whether no one with horseshoes approached, you were blocked, or otherwise). You won't hear if the player you target leaves or returns. Why? Er... God works in mysterious ways.

Ok, so you caused quite a rumpus with that whole Helen business, but has that stopped you? No. You're on the lookout for another hot babe to run off with. Unfortunately, whenever you spot one, you get so excited that you trip and knock yourself out for the rest of the night.

Abilities:
Female Watcher - You may choose a target each night. If any female (or character in drag) also targets your target, you will be told that at least one female approached (but not how many). If you do not see anything, you will not be told why (whether no one wearing women's clothing approached, you were blocked, or otherwise). You won't notice whether your target is wearing women's clothes or not. Why? Er... because you're a bit thick.

Helping Danny and the boys out was fun, but now you've gotten back to playing with your holograms. It's still not perfect, and the batteries always seem to need recharging, but it's better than nothing.

Abilities:
Stunt Double - At night, you may choose to leave a holographic stunt double in your place. All abilities that target you during night (except the Beekeeping Horse's kill) will fail. You may not use this ability on consecutive nights. You may still use your alignment ability, if applicable, and Noah/Paris will hear/see you if you are wearing horseshoes/women's clothing.

Alignments:

(XXXX, XXXX, XXXX)
For years, the Church has been pushed to the back of Eddie's subconscious. But now, your chance has arrived. Eliminate the rest of Eddie's brain, and the church's membership will grow by one bizarre, cross-dressing comedian.

Abilities:
Each night, one of your group may target a player (the target can be a different player within your group). That player will be given the option "Cake or Death?". The Church only has three pieces of cake, and each time a player chooses "Cake", one of the pieces will be eaten. If you run out (by "Cake" being chosen three times) and the Beekeeping Horse survives the night, the Beekeeping Horse wins and the game ends. If your target chooses "Death", or if you run out of cake without the game ending, your target will die ("beheaded"). Your group may communicate privately, day or night.

Win Condition:
You win if all other players are dead and at least one member of the Church of England is alive (or if nothing can prevent this from happening).

You and your precious bees finally have the chance you've been waiting for. You've killed a part of Eddie's subconscious and disguised yourself in the role. Now you can take care of the rest of him.

Abilities:
Each night, you may kill one other player ("covered in bees"). No role abilities can prevent this. Additionally, as a master of disguise you may choose one of two outfits - you can either wear your normal horseshoes (which can be heard by Noah) or your horseheels (spotted by Paris as "women's clothing").

Win Condition:
You win if all other players are dead (whether you are still alive or not), or if the Church of England runs out of cake and you are still alive.

Bweh? What's going on here? Eddie's brain exploded, and now you're separated from all the other subconscious bits. Oh, and some of them are trying to kill you. Great.

Abilities:
What? You've already got a role ability, you want another one? That's just greedy.

Win Condition:
You win if the Beekeeping Horse and all members of the Church of Engalnd are dead.

The Beginning

Uh...

Oh yes! The beginning...

God created the world, and the first day he created:
light and air and fish and jam and soup and potatoes and haircuts and arguments and small things and rabbits and people with noses and jam (more jam, perhaps) and soot and flies and tobogganing and showers and toasters and grandmothers and... Belgium.

And approximately two million, one hundred and ninety five thousand, four hundred and seventeen days later (give or take a few begats), mith spots a billboard and says to his girlfriend:

"Did you see that sign? It said:
Salina... more than ever.
What does that even
mean
?"

And they continue to drive toward Denver, where...

Comedian Eddie Izzard is in his hotel room. The first show is tomorrow night, and he is feeling a bit off, so he has decided to rest and relax tonight, and hopefully that will help.

It doesn't. He lies on his bed, and as soon as he does, his brain explodes. (Oh, don't worry. Not
literally
. But the whole "subconscious mind fragments associated with various comedy bits running out the nose and ears and eyes and pores and teeth" thing was pretty strange.)

And as the twelve pieces of Eddie (well eleven, plus an evil beekeeping horse that had snuck in and replaced one during the chaos... as one does) get a grip on things, they realize there is only one thing to do...

...play Mafia?

Roles and alignments will be sent sometime in the next few hours. When roles are sent, the thread will be unlocked and Day 1 will begin.

Please read all rules, along with your role PM, before posting.

Since the flavor confuses things a bit: The Beekeeping Horse is a master of disguise, and can imitate the ability of the role it is replacing.

Role and alignment abilities can be used on the same night by a single player, where applicable.

This is an odd set-up. I was not able to read much into the roles as to which side they are on. Of course I assume that was planned like that.

It'd make the game a bit lame if we could figure out the scum from their (assumedly non-random alignment assigned) roles.

As far as I understand this is a small-town setup. Role assignment and alignment assignment were both done randomly.

@raider8169. Are you scum?
