It's flavorless, but that's a good thing in Normal games.

I think this is a bit of a weird spot, having not read the entire thread, nor intending to. Lynching just makes sense intuitively, it's a mob of people performing an execution outside the bounds of the law without any real concern for the guilt or innocence of the victim.
However, it does absolutely have racial connotations to it, and anyone arguing it doesn't is a fool to do so. Especially given recent events, I am completely sympathetic to people wanting to shift terminology, and I'll do my best to avoid it going forward.

As for alternatives, perhaps burning, cooking, etc. could be the default flavor, shifting the imagery from hanging black folks to burning witches.

I'm actually partial to "burning" as a flavorful term for elimination (making it basically witch hunt-flavor), but elimination is flavorless and flavorless terms work better in Normals and Opens.

"purging" doesn't strike it with me for some reason.

Also elimination plays into other terms better, NE, PE, E-x, MiLo, and LiLo sound better than NB, PB, B-x, MuLo, and BuLo.

Eliminate just doesn't have the same spirit behind it. Feels less like an execution and more like being sent home from a game show. Hard disagree that Normals should be "flavorless." The flavor should be standardized and unambiguous, but not absent.
