And said he had a way to communicate that with town
But i kinda assumed that was a bluff, and kinda ignored it cuz i assimed he would like be dead shortly

This has been a not-uncommon mechanic in the past, but maybe it's fallen out of use in the last 2-3 years. I've been neighborized by the dead a couple times, and have played in games where others were dead-neighborized.

I will say that while i dont play a *ton* of themes all of the examples that i can think of in my time being on-site had that being like a feature of the setup (i.e. here is a 'nonstandard communication' theme game! Here's a game where the spirits can talk! or something along those lines)
I am not omniscent etc etc etc but this has been my experience

Idk usually as scum i approach things as 'get the troublesome players dead cuz once they're dead they cant do squat and what they think functionally doesnt matter' but that principle kinda gets violated via this sort of mechanism

Idk maybe this is a me-thing and it wouldnt bother other people as much
But it does to me sort of feel like a deviation from the game's fundementals in a way that acutely shortchanges scum, especially if they manage to remove the threat in the first place

And like obviously how it played out n1 is a sort of niche example and perhaps we could have mitigated what happened in that hood better, but at least from my pov i didnt, like, bother to since i kinda didnt think to worry abt dead voicing their thoughts after the fact
