In post 70, SXTLHGaiden wrote:"too town to be town" is never an argument.
it depends on what you mean by "too town", if you mean ones actions are unceasingly trying to further the towns agenda than this is good for the town no matter the side the player is on. if you mean that a player is trying too hard to
appear
they are doing the former, than trying too hard to be town is for sure scummy.

i'm keeping my vote on titus for now, he seems a bit defensive in his exchanges with notscience and he was justifying mail's self vote in post31 which i didn't like.

I am a bit defensive because scum don't want people labeling each other town early. It does nothing for them. Even a slight town read early has the potential to form into a town block, so FoSing the first person to defend a town gambit seems logical to me. I'm just investigating now to see if I am right.

Note: I was on vacation all last week and more lax with vote counts than usual. I do not prod by request if the player in question is not within prod range; even those that did not post confirmed, and so were not within prod range at that time. I tried to search for that quote in my ISO and I couldn't find it. So you're just nodding along with JKM.

on the other hand, why would a town player do something like that? its directing all of the current suspicion at himself when it doesn't need to be. he knows that he's not scum = waste of time unless scum obviously screws the pooch. what do you think?
I see you trying to erode Titus's townread on m-m without really taking a position on m-m. Which scenario do you think is the most likely? Is he town or scum?
In post 69, Brian Skies wrote:M-M's supposed gambit aside, I do have a small fos on titus. His actions seem too kind and pro-town to me, and too much WIFOM for my taste. While I appreciate him helping the newer players, in a game like Mafia where deceit and distrust is not uncommon, I find it a little off-putting.
Assume she is scum and this is how she plays. How do you figure she would respond to the m-m situation as town?

Don't put something in quotes when I didn't say that verbatim. The above is something I actually said. I searched for "experienced" and couldn't find it in my ISO. Instead, you misquote and add buddying language. "I cannot see an experienced player
like you
..." Of course what you quoted sounds more like buddying than what I actually said. I've said I saw the gambit and it looked like something that a seasoned scum would not do. Do
NOT
add buddying language into something I never said. That will tick me off royally. If I did that kind of crap in the read world, I'd be fired and probably not hired anywhere else in a long long time.

i have more of a scum vibe from mail currently; if we assume that he knows what he's doing (as per his comments regarding other games he's played in), and we assume that he is town, his actions just don't make sense to me.

I'm not making an argument for anything. You guys asked me who I suspected and I told you. I'm not saying I think titus is scum. I'm just being more wary of him because I feel like he was trying to do the newer players a favor. And it feels wrong to me.

I agree with Verbs that logically M-M's actions don't make sense to me. If he is an "experienced" player, it can be assumed it was a gambit. But in a newbie game, there is no guarantee the other players will recognize it as such. So right now, it just seems like an attempt for him to seem more pro-town than he needs to be.

I've only played Mafia at one house party, but it was two games. Although, I'd hardly consider the second game as me playing since the town lynched me right away.

And I have been playing Epicmafia for about the past week or so, which I did mention before.
