The rest of that stuff I've pretty much been doing, but was maxing out Q first...

depends on how many you win, and how many of those are bot games (you start getting lesser gains as you go higher in level, I believe). it seems like it takes about 100-150 wins, not 100 games total.

Now that I think about it, this is probably why I enjoy the occasional Sona game so much even though I main AP mid. I did it. You should too. 6300 ip for one fucking runepage is super dumb. If you consider the amount of time it takes you to get to 6300 ip (times 7!) compared to the amount of time it takes you to earn the 20ish bucks you'd need to pay to get the 7-set pack... if you'll use even half of the pages you buy, I'd say it's worth it.

What's your Morg build?

I've been playing her a bit and I like her, but just with a pretty standard AP build. I feel like there have to be better builds.

boots/3 starting usually, build into roa and boots2 (usually merc treads, but depends) then usually hourglass after that then deathcap, then varies wildly if I get past that point depending on how we're doing. <_<

pretty much most important item on her to get is hourglass cuz it allows you to safely ult more people in teamfights. Other than that, pretty standard fare

Yeah, pretty much.

If you ult the enemy team and they stay where they are to fight the rest of your team, they get hit with the second part of the ult. If they run away from your ult, you've forced them out of position. Either way, you've set your team up for an advantage.

I always move my hourglass to the third slot even if I didn't build it third for hotkeying convenience. Took me forever to figure out you could move items though. XD

Kill him like 3 more times before finally taking his tower and he's pretty much useless unless the game gets to late-late game (at which point Annie is pretty much completely fuxxored if the Veigar isn't horribad, but eh, ad carry should be the one carrying the game at that point anyway).

Might not work at all elos obviously but it works for me.

So I joined a solo queue game after our 5 man scummer games ended, only to run into a group of 3 who all picked support and went revive/heal.

"go a strong ap carry and we'll support you. We're all going mid," they said to me and the other pub.

"Meh, solo queue. Whatevs. FUCK YES, ANNIE TIME," I said.

I forgot to screencap the postgame screen, but I went legendary more than once, had a fully stacked mejais for most of the game, and we won and made their TF rage hardcore in postgame chat.

And

it was the most fun game I had all day (belated disclaimer: which is in no way a reflection on the people involved). Go figure.

morg tip numero uno is to have an hourglass by the time you start teamfighting so you can ult relatively safely in the middle of the enemy team.

also don't get cocky against anything with enough burst to break through your shield at lower levels. <_<

morg is great against anything that pushes poorly and poor against AD and super bursty things because she wants to either have a quiet farming lane or farm and then roam, as mentioned. I've fought a few talons as morg. Even if I win my lane, it's a pain in the ass.

On topic:

I'm kind of surprised there weren't more blitzcrank picks. I don't really follow streams all that often but every time I glance at the high elo spectate matches available it seems like there's a blitz support in 2-3/5 games. And usually when I check the player's elo it's something like 1800+. Is the difference between 1800-2100+ really that much? Is someone at high elo on record as stating "x y and z is why no one plays blitzcrank"? I've been playing him a lot lately so it'd probably be enlightening.

It's pretty obvious at least why Soraka and Janna are top picks. Soraka gives heals and mana to rectify any mistakes made in lane, which are already going to be relatively few at high elo. Janna can shield and zone with her CC.

Morg continuing to get banned/picked isn't really surprising to me but yeah, the spell vamp nerf definitely hurt her. I'm nowhere near pro level play but she seems a lot easier to counter now. Even if she gets nerfed more and the pros stop picking/banning her I bet she'll still get banned/picked constantly at lower elo, unless they change her E. For people with less map awareness the E just makes her nigh ungankable in lane and that's kind of a big deal when you're a baddie and have no idea that enemy lee sin was about to leap onto your face.

No playlist for you, but I play various video game music (Mass Effect series, MGS series, Final Fantasy series, and Super Mario Galaxy comes predominantly to mind). I used to play the kind of random stuff I normally listen to until I realized anything with lyrics has a detrimental effect on my play.

The one exception to all this: If I am playing Lux, I MUST be playing PARTY LUX. And if I ever pick up Xin Zhao, you bet I'll be playing that one Mulan song the whole time.

I very rarely have the default in-game music on anymore, so sometimes all I'm listening to is sound effects.

Depends on your champion and the matchup.

I have 6 of my 9 runepages for AP and while most of those are highly situational, they all get -some- use.

Since you don't main AP mid you'd probably be fine with one offensive and one defensive page, though. Whether you run AP quints or movespeed quints on your offensive page should depend on the kind of ap you're going to play most and your playstyle -- some are better at roaming for kills than others. If you're not planning on roaming, the main reason to take movespeed quints over AP quints would be to dodge skillshots more easily and etc. but basically they're both viable depending on your playstyle. I've never tried MR quints so I can't comment on IPie claiming they're a thing, but I seem to do fine without them.

Against champions like Leblanc I have a page that's AP quints, MPen reds, flat mr yellows, scaling mr blues and it's helped me turn around more than a few lanes that I probably should have lost based solely on the matchup. I also have a defensive page for the rare AD mid but you probably won't need it.

My main offensive page is AP quints, AP blues, mp5 yellows, and MPen reds.

I don't have a problem with you. I was the idiot who asked how he found out. I already know who told you that i asked. The reason we didn't want you to spec we didn't explicitely tell you/want you in game to spectate was cause there were certain players that dislike in-housing because it can be a hostile/condescending atmosphere. Those same people have cited you as a reason to that. I know I have shit-talked in-houses in the past, and have made a conscious effort to not do so. I don't think anyone is innocent of being a dick during in-houses, but it happens and I think instead of kinda being a dick to one person about it, we should just collectively not be dicks to each other.

this basically; I'll also add that the majority of our discussion of whether or not to let someone cast took place before we even formed the custom game and before you were even online.

plus the casting, even if not really "serious", brings added pressure and srsmode to the game that I and others didn't want it to have. Sometimes you want someone to critique your play. Other times all you want to do is play half-seriously with 9 friends instead of 4. This was, at least for me, the latter case.

It's probably best to go into ranked with an ability to play at least one champion (even better, two) in all roles... but realistically speaking, if you call support no one will contest you for it most of the time.

On the rare occasion I solo queue (normal or ranked) I just say "mid or bot lane please; I can top/jungle but I'm not very good at it" and sure enough they'll let me have mid or bot lane a good 98% of the time. There are always gonna be trolls, but

most

people will accommodate a reasonable + polite request if they perceive it as increasing their chances of winning.
